Double Up On This Week’s Champions League
With Barcelona and Arsenal on the brink of elimination, TV football pundit Matt Le Tissier tips a double on this week’s Champions League ties.
Barcelona must treat tonight’s second leg as a cup final as they look to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg in Milan. The visitors may be without leading goalscorer Giampolo Pazzini, but most important the AC Milan defence has conceded just once in the last four games.
Matt Le Tissier tips: “If you’d have told me a year or two ago that Barcelona would struggle to qualify for Champions League quarter finals I’d have raised an eyebrow. Yet, shorn of their mentor Pep Guardiola and staring down the barrel of a 2-0 first leg defecit, they’re in all sorts of trouble. Blue Square’s 8/11 about AC Milan qualifying is a decent enough shout. But it looks even more appealing if you stick it in a double with the same firm’s Bayern Munich -1 on the handicap. The double pays just over 9/4. That’s a lot less than Bayern will be paying Mr Guardiola as of next season, but it’ll almost certainly be worth it. The balance of power in European football has shifted.”
Arsenal were trounced 3-1 by Bayern Munich in the first leg at the Emirates last month and the runaway leaders of the Bundesliga have won 16 successive matches since mid December.
