England To Return To Winning Ways
England To Win 2-0
Luke Shaw is expected to make his England debut in the International Friendly against Denmark at Wembley tonight and the Southampton youngster joins team mates Adam Lallana, Ricky Lambert and Jay Rodriguez for the final game before Roy Hodgson names his World Cup squad.
The 18-year-old left back is there on merit and while he may not start ahead of Ashley Cole, the England manager will want to see how he shapes up for the senior side at some point. The youngster is one for the future but is worthy of consideration for Brazil after the way he has performed for Saints in his first Premier League season.
Matt Le Tissier tips: “This is the last chance to impress Roy Hodgson before he selects the World Cup squad and I expect the England players to stake their claim with a good performance tonight. Denmark are a decent team and finished second in their qualifying group behind Italy.
England should too strong for the Danes at Wembley but there’s not a lot of value in backing them for the win 4/6. I’m going for a fun bet with 2-0 correct score, best price is 13/2 at BetVictor but new Coral customers can bet £5 at 6/1 and get a £20 free bet which looks an offer not to be missed.”
England have lost their last two at Wembley in November after going through the World Cup qualifying group unbeaten. Alexis Sanchez was different class when scoring both goals in Chile’s 2-0 win before losing 1-0 against Germany four days later.
Demnaek sealed their trip to Brazil by defeating Malta 6-0 in the final group game and have since beaten Norway 2-1 in a friendly match in Herning.
