12/1 European Goals Acca (7pm Start)

We've combined four goals picks on Wednesday

Going North First

The first of our four clashes takes us to the Tynecastle and although Hearts playing host to Rangers may not be the most continental of clashes, it is still European enough for us. More importantly though, it should be a interesting fixture that unfolds in Edinburgh.

Although Hearts are the best of the rest in the Scottish Premiership, the prospect of them ever bridging the gap to the Old Firm is something of a non-starter. Then again, Robbie Neilson’s men do love testing themselves against the Glasgow giants and will be up for the visit of Rangers.

The Ibrox outfit have already beaten Hearts twice already this season and will be keen to make it three in a row. Those two victories did also see clean sheets recorded, but I fancy something a little different on Wednesday, which is why I am backing both teams to score at odds of 7/10.

A Cagey Affair

Before we do enter mainland Europe, there is just enough time to squeeze in another Scottish Premiership clash and one that sees two of the bottom three sides meet at Rugby Park. It is Kilmarnock playing host to Dundee United and you get the feeling goals could be at a premium.

Bottom of the table Kilmarnock have not scored more than two goals in any of their last 16 home outings, 10th in the table Dundee United have not surpassed the same figure in any of their last 24 away.

With Derek McInnes and Liam Fox’s men looking to avoid defeat first more than anything else, pragmatism is likely to be the order of the day and with this in mind, I am backing under 2.5 total goals at odds of 8/11.

Across The Channel

Now we are off to Ligue 1 as our European acca begins to truly live up to its name and with Montpellier preparing to play host to PSG, the league leaders have gone massively off the boil these past few weeks.

Two defeats and a draw from their last four has left the door open in terms of the title race and suddenly, this previously assumed one-horse race has a few more entrants that are circling the starting gates.

Not only that but Christophe Galtier’s men have only kept one clean sheet in their last five league outings and although they should deliver maximum points in midweek, I have a feeling this game delivers both teams scoring at odds of 4/5.

Super-Size Me

While my final pick takes me to Portugal’s Liga NOS and with struggling Maritimo playing hosts to title hopefuls Porto, this fixture should only be one way traffic in terms of its eventual outcome. Then again, it is an abundance of goals which is my main concern.

Especially as Sergio Conceicao’s men won the reverse fixture at the start of the season by five goals to one and with them needing to keep the pressure on both Braga and Benfica ahead of them, this fixture could provide the ideal chance to ramp up the positive goal difference.

Before this clash gets underway, Porto are averaging 2.41 goals per game and Maritimo are conceding 1.82. Numbers that have piqued my interest enough to back over 3.5 goals in this encounter and this final selection is priced at odds of 6/4.

While if you put all four combinations together, Bet365 are prepared to offer you 12.21/1 in return.
