Bellingham Is Back

The first of our four clashes takes us to the MEWA Arena, as Mainz play host to Borussia Dortmund and after the black and yellow’s enthralling 4-3 win over Augsburg on Saturday, the focus will be on Jude Bellingham before Wednesday.

With the England international opening the scoring at the weekend, he has once again thrust himself in the limelight and with any Qatari ring rust long since removed, he will now look to reignite Dortmund’s rather floundering season.

While Mainz have certainly been floundering in midtable and have not won any of their last five. Just two points from the last 15 on offer and I cannot see them getting anything in midweek. With this in mind, I am starting things off with the away win at odds of 13/10

Union On Strike

Next up we are off to northwest Germany and Werder Bremen’s clash with Union Berlin. After the visitors had a dalliance with life towards the very top of the Bundesliga, things have just tailed off in recent weeks.

Although a fairy tale Bundesliga success looks like it will pass them by, qualification for the Champions League is still very much up for grabs and with the Stadion An der Alten Försterei outfit currently lying in third, they will look to solidify that standing on Wednesday night.

Especially as hosts Werder Bremen have lost each of their last three league outings and any hopes of finishing in the European places have taken a serious dent. With that said, I cannot see any dent to Union Berlin’s own ambitions, and this is why I am backing another away win at 13/8.

Both In Form

Now we are off to the BayArena as Bayer Leverkusen play host to Bochum and both teams will arrive here in rather fine fettle. Before Wednesday’s clash, the hosts have won each of their last four Bundesliga outings and the visitors have won each of their last three.

While because of the wins that have been accumulated, both teams are going through a resurgence of sorts. For Bayer Leverkusen, their hopes of finishing in the European paying positions have been given a shot in the arm. For Bochum, they are pulling clear of the drop zone.

Although it must be noted that Thomas Letsch’s Bochum side have only won once on the road all season and even though their 1-0 win at Augsburg was only recently, I cannot see two successive away wins being recorded. Therefore, I am backing the home win at odds of 9/20.

Playing It Safe

With some decent value being squeezed out of my first three picks, I am hoping the last offering simply gets us over the line. That offering takes us to the WWK Arena, as Borussia Monchengladbach travel to Augsburg.

They do so having won two and lost two of their last four Bundesliga outings and because of such indifferent form, I am not racing to put all my eggs in their basket. However, the fact that Augsburg have the longest current run without a Bundesliga win puts my mind at ease.

One that sees Enrico Maaßen’s men go eight games since their last league success and because of such a poor run of results, I am backing the visitors to earn at least a point. One that in the double chance market is priced at the rather safe 4/11.

While if you put all four combinations together, bet365 are prepared to offer you 10.93/1 in return.
