The EFL Championship is entering its penultimate week and there is a huge six-pointer to be found in South Wales.

Two To Go
There may be a buffer between Cardiff and the bottom three but that could quickly disappear if results go against them at the weekend.
Not Quite Safe
Seven teams can be classified as being part of this season’s Championship relegation battle and unfortunately for both Cardiff and Huddersfield, they find themselves as part of this less than magnificent seven.
The Bluebirds start the weekend six-points clear of the relegation zone and know that they could be assured of safety before Sunday’s clash with Huddersfield gets underway. The Terriers know that they could also be in the drop zone by the time this upcoming fixture comes around.
While there is no doubt that the installation of Sabri Lamouchi as Cardiff manager has proven to be a rather inspired one. Especially when you look at how the team have played in each of their last three league outings.
Nine points on the table, seven then collected for good measure. If there was ever a time to start building an unbeaten run, then this is certainly it and it is a run that former Cardiff boss Neil Warnock will be looking at with some envy.
Because whereas the South Wales outfit have avoided defeat in their last three, their Yorkshire-based counterparts have failed to win any of their last trio. Which is even more concerning when you consider that Huddersfield won each of their last three matches prior.
A nine-point burst which claimed the scalps of Millwall, Middlesbrough and Watford and in doing so, has played a massive part in Warnock’s men being on the right side of this season’s dotted relegation line.
Admittedly Reading’s six-point deduction has also played a substantial part in potential safety but at the same time you can only play the hand that you are dealt and right now, Huddersfield are just about coming up trumps.
With that said, they also went some way to trumping Sunderland’s bid for a play-off invite at the end of the campaign. A 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light was celebrated more in the away team’s quarters than it was the hosts.
Ultimately at this stage of the season it is not necessarily about wins. It is more about just doing that little bit more than the teams around you. If you are getting one point and a rival gets none, these small gains will still be gratefully received.
But now it is time for the first of my two tips and with Cardiff being in far better form in recent weeks, my hunch is a home win. Not only that, but I am also going to opt for over 2.5 total goals and this pick is priced at odds of 10/3.
In addition to this, I am also going to go for the visitors to take the lead and then the hosts to eventually find themselves in a winning position. While this rollercoaster of events is priced at a tempting 10/1.
