The Scottish League Cup has reached its semi-final stage and the first of two weekend fixtures sees Celtic take on Kilmarnock.
Although Derek McInnes may no longer be wearing Rangers’ colours, the Kilmarnock manager will still relish the opportunity to go up against Celtic on Saturday.

Celtic v Kilmarnock Betting Tips
After a Kyogo Furuhashi double secured victory over Hibernian in last season’s League Cup final, it meant a first piece of silverware for Ange Postecoglou as Celtic manager. One for him and the 20th League Cup win in the Hoops’ illustrious history.
Fast forward a few months and Postecoglou would soon land his first Scottish Premiership title and after getting the better of Rangers in last season’s title race, the aimable Australian and his players have shown no let up during this.

Not only do they currently find themselves nine points clear of their nearest rivals, but they also find themselves back in the mix to win another Scottish League Cup. The final four is upon us, a meeting with Kilmarnock is not that far away either.
A meeting that Celtic will enter as heavy favourites and when you look at the way that they have been playing in recent weeks, it is understandably so. 16 points from the last 18 on offer, the only slight blemish was their 2-2 draw at Ibrox.
A draw that almost felt like a win come the final whistle and after managing to leave the blue half of Glasgow with their nine-point advantage still in place, you get the feeling that Michael Beale’s men have almost conceded overall league defeat.
Of course, league points mean nothing in terms of the League Cup, and this is a message that Kilmarnock’s manager Derek McInnes will be keen to drum into his players. Yes, they are the underdogs, but they are also arriving at Hampden on merit.
After making it out of the group stage with relative ease, the difficulty was soon ramped up in the second round. A trip to Tynecastle and a clash with Heart of Midlothian. A 1-0 win and progress to the last eight secured.

From there, the Rugby Park outfit were rewarded with a cup clash on home soil and one against Premiership strugglers Dundee United. McInnes’ men were on hand to cause for more misery for their Tannadice opponents, a 2-1 win leads them to their current preparations.
While those with rather short memories will surely remember the fact that these two sides met just a week ago. A Premiership fixture at Celtic Park and nothing more than a routine 2-0 home win for the current league leaders.
A result that would certainly be welcomed by Celtic’s support and unfortunately for their Kilmarnock counterparts, I do not envisage anything resembling a semi-final shock and this is why I have backed Jota to open Saturday’s scoring at odds of 9/2.
The Portuguese forward managed this last weekend, I have a hunch he will do the same during this. A goal that gets Celtic underway and eventually sees them reaching the final in 90 minutes after winning by three goals to one – something that I am also backing at odds of 10/1.
