Antonio Conte and Tottenham will hope to galvanise their Champions League campaign when they visit Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday evening.
By all accounts, Conte’s charges were expected to cruise through Group D, but they have failed to set things alight. To date, they have picked up three points from their first two games, and they were below par in their last European outing against Sporting Lisbon, conceding two goals late on.
Tottenham will have to dust themselves down and move on after a 3-1 reverse at the hands of Arsenal last weekend, but the injury problems are mounting.
Ben Davies is currently a doubt, so Clement Lenglet could deputise in defence, while Dejan Kulusevski (hamstring) and Lucas Moura (tendon) are both likely to be absent for this crunch game.
Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt have burst into form of late, winning their past three games in all competitions, netting six times, and they will be no pushovers.
But how will this one pan out? Ahead of the game, we have handpicked a couple of tips for you to mull over.
Tottenham to pinch it
Against the Gunners at the Emirates, Tottenham paid the price for sitting too deep and they played into Arsenal’s hands as they invited a lot of pressure.
Conte’s men must seize the initiative from the first whistle, and they can’t afford any more slip-ups if they are going to advance from the group stages to the last 16.
Tottenham must prove they are just more than a good counter-attacking team, but Frankfurt, who lifted the Europa League last term, will be desperate to defy the odds, although they have won one of their five past European ties at home.
If anything, Tottenham could be forced to dig deep and they may have to do things the hard way to collect all three points. Paddy Power has you covered in the Correct Score market, and they are offering a tempting price of 7/1 for Tottenham to snatch a 2-1 win which may be worth following up on.
Richarlison the head boy
While Richarlison was largely subdued against Sporting Lisbon, he made a significant contribution in the opening group game against Marseille, weighing in with two headed goals.
Tottenham will need to flood balls into the Frankfurt box and if Richarlison rises to the occasion, he could well prove to be a menace.
The dynamic with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min could develop in the coming weeks and Richarlison may well get on the scoresheet. If you like a special, then you can get an inviting price of 9/1 with William Hill for the Brazilian to net with a header which might be worth considering.
