France v Morocco Predictions

Although France were by far the best team on Saturday evening, they are the outfit that reached the final four at the expense of England. Even though Didier Deschamps’ men were not at their best, they did exactly what champions need to do.

Because champions find a way to come out on top even after taking a number of jabs to the body. Les Blues may have been behind on the judges’ scorecards, but they eventually managed to land a decisive knockout blow.

One that continues their tournament progress to Wednesday evening, as the current holders look to make it two successive World Cup finals in four years. If they are to achieve such a feat, they will need to dispose of Morocco.

However, this task is certainly easier said than done and with Walid Regragui’s men already getting the better of Spain and Portugal in the knockout bracket, they would love nothing more than beating a third global powerhouse.

Something that would have seemed rather ludicrous before events in Qatar got underway. Then again, this has already been a tournament stacked full of surprises and one more would certainly be welcomed.

Especially by England supporters who are still feeling sore after Saturday’s events and although allegiance will not have been switched on a permanent basis, fans of the Three Lions may soon back the Atlas equivalent instead.

With the North African outfit conceding just one goal in 480 minutes of tournament football, they are also yet to be breached by opposition attack. Only an own goal in their group stage win over Canada serves as a blot on their copybook.

Should they be able to show the same level of discipline in midweek, French frustration will not be all that far away. Should Morocco score the first goal of the game, it could just as easily be the only goal in the history books.

With that said, keeping the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud quiet is going to be far from easy. Especially as Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann will be ready to cause mischief out wide and are just as capable of scoring themselves.

With that in mind, our latest bet builder is now up for grabs, and it looks like this:

  • Morocco to qualify
  • Under 3 total goals
  • Under 9 total corners

For my latest bet builder offering, the spotlight is being shown on that Morocco defence. One that I see booking a place in the World Cup final. Whether it is 90, 120 minutes or even penalties, the Atlas Lions will roar into Sunday.

However, this may be a game for the defensive purists, and this is why I have backed no more than two total goals. Add a maximum of eight corners into the bargain and this latest construction is priced at odds of 11/1.
