Serie A: Sampdoria vs Juventus Preview & Betting Tips

The second round of Serie A fixtures finishes up this evening, as Sampdoria play host to Juventus.

The Other Monday Night Football

Although Manchester United versus Liverpool is going to be tonight’s sporting spotlight, there is still some focus that will be positioned towards Italy.

The Old Lady Looks To Sing Again

It may only be week two of this new Serie A season, but already it has seen AC Milan drop points and with the defending champions potentially handing an early advantage elsewhere, Juventus will look to make use of such generosity this evening.

Because after an impressive victory in their first league showing of the campaign, Max Allegri’s men are now aiming for more of the same and with Sassuolo comfortably disposed of last Monday, it is now Sampdoria who stand in their way.

This time seven days ago, the Old Lady of Turin roared to a 3-0 win at the Allianz Stadium and with summer signing Angel Di Maria opening proceedings for his new employers, it was left to Dusan Vlahovic to score a double for himself.

Which meant with a clean sheet at the other end of the field, their showing over Sassuolo could only be considered perfect and now they will aim to be only one of three teams to end week two on maximum points.

With Napoli and Inter as the only pair to achieve this feat, there is a sense that the cream is already rising to the top and this is a layer of teams that Juventus would certainly not look out of place in.

However, they cannot simply turn up to the Luigi Ferraris Stadium and assume that three points are in the bag and even though Sampdoria lost to Atalanta last weekend, they are not a side that can be necessarily overlooked.

Especially when you consider their captain is a former Juventus man and although Fabio Quagliarella is 39 years of age, he is showing no signs of slowing down – while the signs may also look good from a betting point of view.

Because with the forward having netted 88 goals in 220 Sampdoria outings, he knows where the goal is and at odds of 10/3 for the ex-Italian international to net anytime, this could be a worthwhile shout before this evening’s encounter gets underway.

Which means if Juventus are the favourites to come out on top, but we are backing Quagliarella to breach their defence, a both teams to score bet should not be overlooked either and you can also get 13/5 on the visitors on conceding and earning maximum points at the same time.

While for those who like to throw just a little more caution to the wind, I have one final offering up my sleeve and with Juventus managing three goals last Monday night, you can also back them to win 3-1 at the tempting odds of 12/1.
