Swansea v Hull City Match Preview & Betting Tips

Dan has 10/3 and 10/1 tips for the Saturday lunchtime game

A full round of Championship action returns on Saturday, as Swansea play host to Hull.

After a rather bright start to the season, Hull have gone off the boil as of late and after losing their last three league outings, they will look to return to winning ways at the weekend.

From Hull And Back

Although this is only round 10 of the new EFL Championship season, the table is now starting to take on a semblance of shape and with Swansea starting Saturday in the relegation zone, all is not well at the Liberty Stadium.

Something that their manager Russell Martin will need to address in the build up to Hull’s visit and after conceding a late winner to Sheffield United in midweek, it is now three defeats in six for the Swans.

However, all is certainly not lost either and with the Championship table also being known for having plenty of ebb and flow, Swansea could overtake their upcoming opponents with a win on Saturday.

Because although the South Wales outfit currently find themselves in the bottom three, they are only two points behind in Hull in 17th and with Shota Arveladze’s men having lost each of their last three, the Tigers have certainly lost their bite in recent weeks.

After recording defeats to both QPR and Sheffield United, this was then followed up by a 3-0 home reverse to Stoke and not only is it three defeats in a row, but it also four from their last five league outings.

While the only recent slice of positivity was the 3-2 win over the division’s basement outfit Coventry and even with this win, the final score highlighted Hull’s main deficiency. A deficiency that is found in defence.

With 18 goals against them already, this is an average of two against per game and when you look at the exchange rate in football, that is the kind of currency that spells a relegation battle at the very least.

Something that Swansea will also be keen to avoid and although they are not quite as generous in defence, they are rather shy in attack. Then again, you must consider Hull not winning any of their last six outings on the road and with this mind, I think Saturday’s hosts will find some confidence.

Which is why I have plumped for Swansea to add to Hull’s recent woes. Not only do I think it will be a home win, but it will also register no more than two total goals - a combination which sees the hosts celebrating and under 2.5 goals at odds of 10/3.

In addition to this, I am going to shine some additional focus on Joel Piroe and although he has only scored three league goals for Swansea this season, he is leading the charts for the club. Therefore, my hunch is at least a brace against Hull at odds of 10/1.
