Tizz Talks Premier League: 12/1, 8/1 & 9/2 Betting Tips for Saturday

This Saturday offers six Premier League fixtures starting with an absolute cracker of a game between Liverpool and Chelsea in the early game.

I have picked out a 12/1 bet builder for that match which I really like the look of.

Following on from that we have four games in the 3pm time slot and an evening game between Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.

12/1 Liverpool v Chelsea Bet Builder

Sam has a bet builder for the lunchtime kick off

Two teams that have run riot in the Premier League over the last 15 years and are now being seemingly humbled go head-to-head at Anfield this weekend. Jurgen Klopp’s side enter the game off the back of two Premier League defeats, coming against Brighton and Brentford. Currently sitting ninth in the table there is plenty of cause for concern given where The Reds found themselves just nine months ago, challenging for a quadruple.

Both teams have been battered by injuries this campaign but Chelsea in particular have had it rotten. The notable absentees have had a massive impact on Chelsea with players such as Reece James and N’Golo Kante unable to get up to speed. Results have been bad for Graham Potter since the return after the World Cup and the pressure looks to be mounting. There are already rumours about the likes of Sterling, Gallagher, Ziyech and Pulisic leaving in this window and it just seems like chaos. All the murmurings can’t be doing anything for squad confidence right now.

It doesn’t feel like Potter has got anywhere near to finding an identity with this Chelsea team yet, but a lot of that can be put down to injuries as well. I think this game comes at a bad time for Chelsea and they will ultimately come unstuck against a Liverpool side who are in need of a win themselves having stuttered throughout the season.

Match stats

  • The last four meetings between the sides have all ended in a draw.
  • There have been at least three goals scored in all of Liverpool’s last seven Premier League games.
  • Liverpool have won seven of their last 10 games at Anfield.
  • Chelsea are unbeaten in their last five games against Liverpool.
  • Chelsea haven’t won in their last five away games in the Premier League.

Team News

Liverpool will be without Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota, Arthur and Luis Diaz through injury. Firmino and Tsimikas also remain doubts for the home side.

Chelsea have a long list of injuries including Denis Zakaria, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, N’Golo Kante, Armando Broja, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, Eduoard Mendy and Christian Pulisic. They will also be without Joao Felix who is serving a suspension.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United 8/1 Bet Builder

8/1 Crystal Palace v Newcastle Bet Builder

Tizz has an 8/1 pick for the Palace v Newcastle clash

The evening game sees Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace host high flying Newcastle United who are fourth in the league. The Eagles will be looking to build off their 1-1 draw with Manchester United last time out, ending a run of three straight defeats. It’s a potentially worrying time for Palace who currently sit 12th in the Premier League, but they are only eight points from the drop. Eight points might sound a lot but I think this season will be about as fine as you can cut it with a lot of teams getting thrown into the mix.

Still, I expect Crystal Palace to stay up but there should be a look over your shoulder mentality. Palace have been on the end of some pretty embarrassing results at Selhurst Park in recent weeks with a 3-0 defeat to newly promoted Fulham and a 4-0 trouncing from Tottenham Hotspur. Something isn’t quite clicking for the home side and the last thing they need is an in-form Newcastle United team, who are unbeaten in their last 14 Premier League games.

Eddie Howe may be without midfield talisman Bruno Guimaraes who picked up an ankle injury; so expect to see Joelinton slot back into the midfield and a potential rare start for Allan Saint-Maximin. If that is the case I think we can expect fireworks with the amount of flair on show.

Between the likes of Zaha, St Maxi, Eze, Ayew and Willock we might have to have an extinguisher at the ready, it wouldn’t surprise me to see some clips on Soccer Am’s showboat on Saturday from this game!

Match Stats

  • 12 of the last 13 games between the sides have seen under three goals scored.
  • Newcastle haven’t conceded in their last five Premier League matches
  • Newcastle have kept a clean sheet in all of their last three games against Palace.
  • Newcastle are unbeaten in their last 14 Premier League games.

Team news

James McArthur, Nathan Ferguson and Joachim Anderson will be sidelined through injury.

Emile Krafth, Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Targett are likely to miss out with injury, and Bruno Guimaraes is a doubt.

3pm away day double

For the 3pm games I have picked out an away double, so two teams playing away from home that I fancy to win… Nottingham Forest and Brighton both to win pays 9/2 with William Hill

9/2 Saturday 3pm Premier League double

Two away sides catch Sam's eye this weekend in the 3pm games

  • Nottingham Forest to beat Bournemouth 17/10

I have been quietly impressed with Forest over the last month, not only have they begun to pick up important results but their overall play and approach to games has been a lot better than what we saw before the World Cup. They no longer look overwhelmed at being a Premier League team and Cooper appears to have found the right balance and personnel in key positions on the field, after a whirlwind summer transfer window.

As for Bournemouth they have lost eight of their last nine games in the Premier League and are plummeting down to the table, just one point out of the relegation zone with the worst goal difference in the division. The situation is looking very bleak for The Cherries and unless they make a number of quality additions in the January window I think it could be curtains for Gary O’Neill and his side.

I think Forest will come into this game full of confidence knowing a win here would be another positive step in the right direction, steering them even further away from the relegation zone.

  • Brighton to beat Leicester City 21/20

You can’t help but admire Brighton and their style of play, it has been a joy to watch over the last few seasons and it is finally starting to bring the points it deserves this campaign. The Seagulls have won five of their last seven Premier League games including a 3-0 win away at Anfield and a 4-1 win against Chelsea. During that seven game spell they have found the net 17 times and are proving to be one of the most potent attacking sides in the league.

Keeping hold of key players could be pivotal to what De Zerbi is trying to accomplish over the next few months, but I don’t expect losing Leandro Trossard will negatively impact the team from what we have seen in the last month. As for The Foxes they have really struggled this season and it looks as though a serious rebuild is needed next season, potentially including a change in the hierarchy of the club with the fans becoming really disillusioned with the manager, the board and the players.

Leicester’s plight is evident for all to see and this is the first time since Nigel Pearson you could say the club looks like it could be in real threat of a potential relegation if they can’t find the consistency in their game soon. Brendan Rodgers side have lost all of their last four Premier League games and their latest defeat against Nottingham Forest came as a major blow for the midlands side.
