Tuesday Goals Predictions

Our top picks for Tuesday night

Tuesday Night Foursome

If you cannot wait for Manchester City versus Arsenal on Wednesday, then we have four of very best Tuesday bets to whet your appetite.

Not Safe Yet

The first of our four clashes takes us to Molineux, as Wolves play host to Crystal Palace. The hosts are not quite safe from relegation, the visitors know that a win on Tuesday would take them over the magical 40-point marker.

Julen Lopteegui’s men were eventually outclassed by Leicester at the weekend and counterpart Roy Hodgson could only oversee a goalless draw at home to Everton. Something that suggests goals may be at a premium in the West Midlands.

Especially as there have been two or less in total in each of the last five meetings at this ground (all competitions). Enough of a sample to point me in the right direction and this is why I am kicking things off with under 2.5 at odds of 8/13.

A Lancashire Derby

Next up we go to Ewood Park and the East Lancashire derby between Blackburn and Burnley. The hosts desperately need a win to have any chance of reaching the playoffs in May, the visitors need a win to secure the league title.

It has been a woeful week for Jan Dahl Tomasson’s men. Draws with both Coventry and Preston have only come about after conceding injury time levelers and you wonder how important those four dropped points will be on the final day.

Neither team wants to fulfill their objective on the final day and that is why I think this derby will be a rather open affair. One that sees at least three total goals on the scoresheet and over 2.5 is priced at 11/10.

One Final Twist

Now we are off to League One as Barnsley play host to Ipswich. Both teams have secured at least a playoff berth at the end of the season, both teams are doing their very best to earn automatic promotion at the same time.

Barnsley have an outside chance it must be said, but the Oakwell outfit are not giving up without a fight and considering Ipswich have not lost any of their last 16, it is certainly going to be a fight on Tuesday.

Each outfit does not have defensive football as part of their remit and with a lot riding on this encounter, it is set to have plenty of ebb and flow. Something that should also bring over 2.5 goals with it at odds of 21/20.

Limping To Survival

While my final pick takes me to League Two as Newport County play host to Harrogate Town. The hosts have nothing of note to play for, the visitors are not mathematically safe from relegation, but it would now need a horrendous goal swing to send them down.

This meeting in English football’s fourth tier has all the hallmarks of a dead rubber and when this is the case, the game can go one of two ways. It either offers up a ludicrous score as tools are downed across the pitch or it offers up very little in the way of entertainment.

Newport have the third-worst home record in the division and Harrogate have failed to win any of their last four away league matches. With this in mind, my hunch is that all signs point to under 2.5 goals at odds of 17/20.

While if you put all four combinations together, Bet365 are prepared to offer you 11.86/1 in return.
