World Cup 25/1 Anytime Scorer Acca for Thursday 24th November

Thursday’s action in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar starts in Al Wakrah where Switzerland faces Cameroon in Group G, and since we don’t expect to see (any) goals there, focus for the Anytime Scorer Acca is going to be on the remaining three games. Check our selections, reasoning and the current odds below:

  • Darwin Nunez – URUGUAY vs South Korea
  • Cristiano Ronaldo – PORTUGAL vs Ghana
  • Dusan Vlahovic – Brazil vs SERBIA

Darwin Nunez – URUGUAY vs South Korea

We were surprised to see such high 13/8 odds on Darwin Nunez to score at anytime against South Korea on Thursday. Liverpool’s striker has been in red-hot form lately, being man of the match in the latest Premier League duel against Southampton FC. The Reds won that game 3-1 and Nunez scored two goals. When it comes to his appearances for the national team, Nunez’s name appeared on the score sheet in Uruguay’s last match against Canada in 2-0 victory.

It’s unrealistic to expect South Korea to keep their net intact in the upcoming duel. They had only one clean sheet in their last nine World Cup appearances. Uruguay played five games in the previous WC edition, scored seven and conceded three goals. They scored in all three group stage duels against Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Russia.

Cristiano Ronaldo – PORTUGAL vs Ghana

We all know how much Cristiano Ronaldo enjoys playing on the big stage. Dust raised after CR7′s interview with Piers Morgan last week hasn’t settled yet, and on top of that, Manchester United published a statement today saying that Cristiano is to leave the club by mutual agreement with immediate effect. In our opinion, this means that the Portuguese star is going to be super-motivated in the World Cup, while also chasing plenty of records – this is going to be his fifth and probably the last WC.

He is a penalty taker in the squad, which is an additional plus for the 1/1 odds pick.  Ghana have been very solid defensively, keeping their net intact in the most recent friendly match against Switzerland. They were unable to keep a clean sheet in their last seven World Cup games though. We wouldn’t be surprised if this match ends 1-0 in favor of Portugal.

Dusan Vlahovic – Brazil vs SERBIA

Third pick Dusan Vlahovic to score against favored Brazil at 4/1 might surprise many. Serbia’s play style changed completely upon the arrival of former Yugoslavian star and now coach Dragan Stojkovic. They earned a direct ticket to Qatar after winning the group ahead of Portugal. The Eagles scored a grand total of 17 goals in the last six games across all competitions against respectable opponents.

They are usually starting matches with two center-forwards – Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic. Fulham’s striker is most likely going to miss this duel due to injury, so all eyes will be on Juventus’ star. Vlahovic is sitting at six goals in ten Serie A appearances for Juve. He also bagged six goals for the national team in the last seven games. The odds to beat Allison (or Ederson) are too good to be missed in our opinion.
