One Man In Particular

Although it would be unfair to label Poland as a one-man team, they do have one man who is capable of terrorising opposition defences and if Mexico’s backline takes a moments rest, Robert Lewandowski will be ready to punish them.

Especially as the Barcelona forward will be keen to not only get off the mark in this year’s World Cup but more importantly, he will be looking to earn maximum points from Tuesday’s Group C encounter.

Even more so when you consider the construction of this group and with this upcoming clash being the one that will largely define who else joins Argentina in the knockout phase – or at least it will in theory, both Mexico and Poland will look to get off to a perfect start.

At the same time, a draw would not be the worst result for either side. Although if that does prove to be the case, their remaining two fixtures each will provide something of a delicate balancing act to deal with.

With Saudi Arabia being considered as the whipping boys in this mini league, the hunt for goals will then begin in earnest. At the same time, both the Mexicans and the Poles cannot concede too many against Argentina either.

As goal difference acts as the main tiebreaker in the group stage, the best way to avoid an exit by such means is by earning maximum points in game one and if Tata Martino’s Mexico side can keep Lewandowski quiet, then half the battle will be won.

Half but not all of it and with the likes of Arkadiusz Milik and Sebastian Szymański also ready to place a thorn in the side of their opponents, Polish manager Czesław Michniewicz knows mischief can be caused on multiple fronts.

Then again, their Mexican opponents are not short of options in attack either and although Raul Jimenez has blown more cold than hot for Wolves in recent times, he and teammate Hirving Lozano are always a handful in Mexican international colours.

Now that we have assessed the creative options of either side, it is time to also unveil our latest World Cup bet builder:

With Lewandowski 4/1 to score first as a standalone bet, this is also a perfect start for any bet builder, using him on the anytime scorer market. Add this being a cagey affair and no more than two total goals should also be the order of the day.

By the time you add in no more than 10 corners into the mix, our combination of factors is complete. While this bet builder is currently priced at 11/1 – ideal odds to nicely help along your Tuesday World Cup viewing
