French Open 2021 - 1st Round Betting Tips and Odds

Three bets from Monday's action at Roland Garros
At 3/1 a 10£ bet would return 40£

The 2021 French Open got off to a strong start on Sunday and there is another jam packed day of 1st Round action to enjoy on Monday.

Here at we have gone through the best of the remaining tennis in the opening round and picked out three tempting tennis betting tips.

Sam Querrey vs John Isner:

Clay court tennis is played at a slower pace than much hard court tennis and certainly the tennis we’ll see in the upcoming grass court season.

It’s on the grass where Sam Querrey and John Isner are best able to utilise their big serves but the two Americans have more technical ability and move better than some give them credit for so they can be dangerous on the clay.

Isner is the 1/4 favourite with bet365* to win this but he knows that it will not be easy against Querrey and we think this could be a closer contest than the odds suggest so recommend betting on over 42.5 games at 21/20 with 888sport.

Bianca Andreescu vs Tamara Zidansek:

Canadian tennis fans are right to be very excited and more than a little bit protective about Bianca Andreescu.

At the age of 20 she is already a Grand Slam champion thanks to her win at the 2019 US Open and some have criticised the decision to put her match against Tamara Zidansek on Court 14.

Andreescu’s return to clay went well enough in Strasbourg with two twins before she withdrew to protect a rib injury but she may find that her surroundings and the quality of Zidansek on the red Roland Garros courts are a difficult challenge to overcome.

While Andreescu’s quality should tell, we’re not expecting everything to go her way so like the look of Andreescu to win 2-1 at 3/1 with bet365*.

Garbine Muguruza vs Marta Kostyuk:

As is normal for the women’s game, there are any number of players in with a realistic chance of winning the 2021 French Open.

Garbine Muguruza, a former French Open champion, is one of those who is available at a tasty price as she starts her campaign with Sportnation going 14/1 about her chances.

Marta Kostyuk is by no means an easy opponent for Muguruza in her opening round but the bookies make the Spaniard a strong favourite in the betting and we agree so take Muguruza to win 2-0 at 4/6 with 888sport.
