Go In Early On Man Utd To Win Champions League
Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier recommends getting in early on Manchester United’s odds to win the Champions League.
The Red Devils head to the Bernabeu for the first leg of their last 16 clash with Spanish champions Real Madrid on Wednesday. Jose Mourinho’s side have been well off the pace in La Liga this season and suffered another tame defeat in Granada last weekend. Cristiano Ronaldo and co must step up a level or risk watching their season crumble apart in the next couple weeks.
Matt Le Tissier tips: “I can’t wait for the Champions League second round next week and the tie that has really caught my imagination is Real Madrid v Manchester United. I think back when the draw was made United might have been a bit fearful but Madrid have become increasingly erratic in the last couple of months, while the Red Devils keep on winning. I’m fairly confident Sir Alex Ferguson can get one over on old rival Jose Mourinho and, if he does, the massive 14/1 on United lifting the Cup with Coral won’t last long. Taking that 14/1 now looks a great back-to-lay option for further down the line”
In contrast, United have gone from strength to strength and look more formidable as the season progresses. Ferguson’s side is nine points clear at the top of the Premier League and the matter less 1-0 defeat against Cluj in the Champions League group game was the only loss in 17 games stretching back to late November.
