The Best Horse Racing Tips for Ayr, Cartmel & Beverley

Plenty of competitive Horse Racing action scheduled for Monday afternoon and evening. We will provide Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions for three of the races taking place, two in the afternoon and one in the evening.

At Ayr, we will supply a Horse Racing tip for their feature race at 3.20pm, while at Cartmel our selection comes in the 4.10pm contest. In the evening, Beverley’s 6.15pm handicap sprint is the scene of our each-way longshot of the day.

Our Tip for the 3.20pm at Ayr:

Only six runners for this Class 2 handicap but an open contest all the same. Southern raiders Tinker Toy and Vintager are both respected along with the David O’Meara-trained Shelir. However, the horse who makes most appeal is top weight Marie’s Diamond.

The five-year-old has been highly-tried since winning at Newmarket last June, four of the horse’s subsequent eleven starts coming in Group 1 or Group 2 company.

This will be a significant drop in class for the mount of Ben Curtis who was beaten less than four lengths in a hot Sandown handicap on his most recent start.

After finishing third in last season’s Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, Marie’s Diamond achieved a rating of 113 so running off a mark of 102 here, the Mark Johnston inmate is fancied to get back to winning ways.

Our Tip for the 4.10pm at Cartmel:

Despite racing off a 18lb higher mark than when opening his account over fences at Ffos Las in May, the Peter Bowen-trained Lermos Legend still looks attractively weighted with just 10st 3lb to carry in this Class 3 handicap.

The mount of Sean Bowen has taken his time to get the hang of the jumping game (fell on his first two outings of 2021) but after finishing a promising second at Ffos Las on the first day of April has hardly put a foot wrong in landing a hat-trick of victories at the Welsh venue.

With the likes of Tonto’s Spirit and Sword Of Fate in the race, the Midnight Legend gelding should get a nice lead before the six-year-old’s light weight decides the issue at the business end of the contest.

Our Tip for the 6.15pm at Beverley:

As you would expect for a 17-runner sprint handicap, a wide-open contest, run over the minimum trip of five furlongs. The hat-trick-seeking Show Yourself, Navajo Spring and the veteran Dark Shot are capable of taking a hand in the finish. But at a big price, it could be worth giving the Tim Easterby-trained Tom’s Reign Beau a chance to follow up his victory on the course as a juvenile, the gelding’s sole win in ten starts to date.

The son of Brazen Beau likes to race up with the pace, so with a high draw in stall 16, next door to hold-up stablemate Dan De Light, Duran Fentiman’s mount could track over to the rail and make a bold bid from the front.
