The Best Horse Racing Tips for Beverley & Perth on Thursday

Horse Racing tips for the meetings at Beverley & Perth on Thursday afternoon
At 11/4 a 10£ bet would return 38£

Turf Flat racing comes from the meeting at Beverley on Thursday afternoon, while Jumps action takes place at Warwick and Perth in the afternoon and Exeter in the evening. We will provide Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions for one race from the East Riding of Yorkshire racecourse and two from Scotland’s Perth Festival.

At Beverley we will supply a Horse Racing tip for the 2.10pm contest, run over the minimum trip. While at Perth we will concentrate on the popular veterans’ chase at 4.05pm and the following handicap hurdle at 4.40pm.

Our Tip for the 2.10pm at Beverley:

After making all to run out an easy winner of an apprentice handicap at Ripon last week, connections of Dapper Man were quick to bring the seven-year-out again when sent off an odds-on favourite to follow up at Pontefract on Monday.

Time may show that the mount of Ben Curtis faced a difficult task in conceding 2lb to the potentially well handicapped winner Ventura Express. Providing trainer Roger Fell is happy to bring the Dandy Man gelding out again just three days later, Dapper Man, from stall 3, is fancied to make a bold bid from the front off the same mark of 67.

Nibras Again and Buniann, from the same stable as Ventura Express, look the main dangers.

Our Tip for the 4.05pm at Perth:

Responsible for three of the 10 runners, trainer Nick Alexander holds a strong hand in this 3m veterans’ chase. His Craiganboy can prove a risky proposition, having refused to race on three occasions during the last 15 months. But when electing to start, the 12-year-old is more than capable of running well.

Benny’s Secret is more straightforward, with two victories to his name from his last five starts. However, it is stablemate Eagle Ridge who appeals most of the trio, if in the same kind of form as when winning a competitive Musselburgh handicap on New Year’s Day off a mark just 2lb lower.

The mount of Danny McMenamin has failed to follow up in three subsequent attempts but has been far from disgraced. On this better ground and with a low weight to carry, the son of Oscar can get back to winning ways at the main expense of Thomas Todd from the Laura Morgan stable.

Our Tip for the 4.40pm at Perth:

On just her fourth start for trainer Nick Alexander and fifth in all, the ex French mare Cancan should be more than capable of winning a moderate contest such as this Class 5 two mile handicap hurdle.

Despite being beaten some 37 lengths on her debut in this country back in January at Musselburgh, the five-year-old showed some promise. Five weeks later at Newcastle, the mount of Henry Brooke did even better, going down by less than five lengths behind a couple of decent novices in Robin Des Theatre and Lady Tremaine.

More improvement followed on her most recent start last month when finishing a half length third in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle. The daughter of Al Namix, with those three runs under her belt, looks ready to open her account in a race that should take little winning. Of the rest, the unexposed Goodtimes Badtimes could give the selection most to do.
