Flat turf racing takes a back seat on Tuesday afternoon, with the action coming from Lingfield’s all-weather surface alongside Jump meetings at Ayr and Fakenham. We will provide Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions for three races from the Norfolk track.
We will supply Horse Racing tips for a 2m 5f handicap chase at 2.45pm, a 2m 4f novices’ handicap hurdle at 3.55pm and half an hour later at 4.25pm the stamina-sapping 3m 5f Norfolk National Handicap Chase.
Our Tip for the 2.45pm at Fakenham:
The Paul Webber-trained Eurkash probably sets the standard for this poor Class 5 handicap chase based on a victory over fences at Bangor last December and a couple of recent runner-up spots.
The mount of Page Fuller went down by 40 lengths to Diligent at Plumpton on his most recent start, whereas the horse who got to within eight lengths of that horse at Fontwell just over two weeks ago, Etat Major Aulmes, possesses the greater potential and is taken to open his account on his third start over the bigger obstacles.
Adrian Heskin’s mount made all of the running to win a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot last July and is more than capable of taking a race of this nature off a mark of 98 for trainer Oliver Signy.
Our Tip for the 3.55pm at Fakenham:
Placed in five of her eight starts over hurdles, the Alex Hales-trained Say Nothing looks sure to run another sound race. But the daughter of Nathaniel may need to be dropped a few pounds in the handicap before opening her account.
Top Beak and 7lb claimer Jason Dixon would have a major chance if repeating his easy victory at Catterick back in March, whereas the unexposed Postie is open to plenty of improvement. However, it could be worth taking a chance on Happy And Content from the Sam Drinkwater stable.
The lightly-raced five-year-old mare has yet to make the frame in five runs over hurdles, all at big prices. But there was plenty to like about her most recent effort at Doncaster when up with the pace for a long way until weakening in the closing stages.
Adrian Heskin’s mount can only improve on what she has achieved to date and on this decent ground the daughter of Fame And Glory can go well at a double-figure price.
Our Tip for the 4.25pm at Fakenham:
Surprisingly, the recent winning form for this 3m 5f stamina test is dominated by horses towards the bottom of the weights. Five of the six horses at the foot of the handicap won last time out, including course and distance winner Friends Don’t Ask.
The six-year-old has shown improved form since stepping up in trip and the mount of Nick Scholfield is fancied to confirm that course form with runner-up Strictlyadancer (beaten five and a half lengths) on 7lb worse terms.
The Champs Elysees gelding had no chance when racing from well out of the handicap in Newcastle’s Eider Chase next time, being pulled up after the horse was badly hampered late on. But got back to winning ways on his most recent start when taking a 3m 2f contest at Fontwell.
At the age of six, the Martin Smith-trained stayer is open to more improvement off his current mark of 102. Magic River and Findusatgorcombe should go well off their light weights, while Strictlyadancer can do best of those further up the handicap.
