The Best Horse Racing Tips for Nottingham & Newbury on Friday

The Listed Betvictor St Hugh’s Stakes is the feature race on Newbury’s Friday card at 3.20pm. We will provide a Horse Racing tip, preview and prediction for the Class 1 juvenile contest run over the minimum trip which has attracted a field of 19 runners.

We will also supply Horse Racing tips for the preceding 7f handicap at the Berkshire track (2.45pm) along with Nottingham’s Class 3 Colwick Cup, run over 2m at 3.35pm.

Our Tip for the 2.45pm at Newbury:

Bottom weight Siyata has the look of a potential handicap snip in this seven furlong contest, unlike those horses at the head of the handicap who have around 10st to shoulder.

Unraced as a juvenile, the mount of bang-in-form title-leading jockey Oisin Murphy showed some promise in her first three races before the filly made her handicap debut at Ffos Las last month.

Despite being slowly away the daughter of Siyouni was well on top at the end of the race and off a mark just 4lb higher, Roger Charlton’s charge has the scope to follow up off bottom weight.

Marlay Park and talented 5lb claimer Rhys Clutterbuck can follow the selection home.

Our Tip for the 3.20pm at Newbury:

A wide-open renewal of this Listed two-year-old Class 1 contest for fillies. While it is hard to completely rule out any of the 19 runners, the highest-rated trio are recent Deauville runner-up Delmona, Choux, who went one place better at the French track last month and Duchess Of Cambridge sixth Flotus.

With many bookmakers expected to go four, five or even six places, the each-way bet of the race could be the 78-rated Romantic Time from the William Stone stable.

Marco Ghiani’s mount ran very green on her first two starts. But has looked a different proposition with that experience behind her, recording comfortable victories at Yarmouth and Sandown in the last month.

The daughter of Time Test, who is drawn low in stall 4, has won on both heavy and good to firm ground so the forecast conditions of good to soft shouldn’t be an issue. If high numbers prove to be best, the hat-trick-seeking Devious Angel could be the one to take advantage.

Our Tip for the 3.35pm at Nottingham:

A winner of three of his ten starts over hurdles, the Donald McCain-trained Goobinator is still relatively unexposed on the level and may still be a few pounds ahead of the handicapper off a 4lb higher mark than when taking a competitive York handicap over an extended 2m last month.

Paul Mulrennan’s mount is rated only 3lb inferior to joint top weight Coeur De Lion over the smaller obstacles yet receives a handy 9lb in this stamina test. And on just his fifth Flat start on turf, the five-year-old son of Noble Mission looks a promising stayer in the making after beating his 13 rivals quite comfortably on the Knavesmire last time.

The other joint top weight, Speedo Boy, was probably flattered by his Ascot victory last time after the hold-up horses got caught napping in a falsely run contest. The main dangers could come in the shape of the two horses at the bottom of the weights, Byron Hill and Roar.
