The Best Horse Racing Tips for Thirsk & Hamilton on Friday

Plenty of decent Flat action on Friday and we go north for today’s Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions. Thirsk stages a competitive seven-race card and our each-way selection comes in the final race, a flat amateur jockeys’ handicap, run over 6f at 4.20pm.

In the evening, we will supply Horse Racing tips for the two Class 3 contests on the card at Hamilton, a 1m 1f fillies’ handicap at 6.10pm and at 6.40pm the 1m 4f Lanark Silver Bell Handicap.

Our Tip for the 4.20pm at Thirsk:

Despite reaching the age of 11, the veteran sprinter Lucky Beggar keeps his form remarkably well. An easy winner on this course back in May, the mount of Miss Chelsea Brooks looks the each-way value bet in this amateur jockeys’ handicap.

The grey son of Verglas has won eight times to date, three of which came over today’s trip of 6f. The David Griffiths-trained gelding has gone close on a number of occasions this year and can be marked-up for a recent fifth place at Beverley.

In the hands of Graham Lee, Lucky Beggar didn’t get the clearest of runs on the inside but was still beaten only three lengths. This extra furlong combined with what could prove a good draw in stall 12 puts the popular sprinter in with a good chance of making the frame at the very least.

Last time out winners Lord P and Thread Count look the main dangers along with the consistent Muatadel.

Our Tip for the 6.10pm at Hamilton:

Top weight Sweet Believer is going to be a warm order to take this 1m 1f handicap in the hands of talented 5lb claimer Adam Farragher. The unexposed filly posts obvious claims but with 9st 2lb (including jockeys’ allowance) to carry William Haggas’s charge could be worth opposing with joint bottom weight Vision Of Victory.

Shane Grey’s mount is having her first run in a handicap and has shown enough promise in her three starts to date to suggest that an opening mark of 72 could be on the lenient side.

Second in a well contested novice stakes at Newcastle on her debut at Newcastle last October, the daughter of Camelot faced stiff tasks against the likes of Bellosa and Platinumcard in her two runs this year. Following a recent wind op and in receipt of plenty of weight from the market leader, Kevin Ryan’s charge is fancied to come out on top.

Our Tip for the 6.40pm at Hamilton:

While unlikely to be sent off at a very big price, it would be no surprise to see the William Haggas-trained Mahrajaan making up into a Listed/Group performer at some point in the future.

The lightly-raced three-year-old son of Kitten’s Joy made his debut in a Newmarket novice stakes just over two months ago, finishing a promising third despite looking very green.

With that run under his belt the mount of Paul Hanagan went on to win minor contests at Leicester and Ripon without being unduly troubled. The gelding possesses huge potential and time may show an opening handicap mark of 85 to be lenient to say the least.

Top weight Platinumcard has been in great form of late but is surely in the grip of the handicapper now following three victories, leaving bottom weight Euro Implosion as the one most likely to follow Mahrajaan home.
