The meeting at Pontefract in West Yorkshire stages a typically competitive end of season card on Monday afternoon. We will provide Horse Racing tips previews and predictions for three of the races taking place.
Our first Horse Racing tip of the day comes in the 6f nursery at 2.14pm, followed by a marathon 2m 2f handicap at 3.14pm. Our third Horse Racing tip comes in a 6f Class 5 handicap at 3.44pm.
Our Tip for the 2.14pm at Pontefract:
Third and fourth respectively in a competitive nursery at Ayr’s Western meeting last time, Lethal Levi and Aleezdancer will be fancied by many to fight out the finish to this six furlong contest.
The Karl Burke-trained Lethal Levi has yet to finish out of the first three in seven starts, including victories at Hamilton and Redcar. A Well-held third behind Straits Of Moyle and Cotai Class at the Scottish track, the mount of Sam James may be more at home on this easier ground and is taken to confirm that form with the Kevin Ryan-trained Aleezdancer who lacks the consistency of the selection.
At a much bigger price however, and with what could prove a decent draw in stall 10, the value may lie with the lightly-raced Purple Bling, from the stable of Richard Fahey.
The daughter of Night Of Thunder has shown enough on her three runs to date to suggest an opening handicap mark of 71 may have underestimated the ability of Barry McHughe’s mount who is fancied to make the frame at the very least.
Our Tip for the 3.14pm at Pontefract:
This marathon trip of 2m 2f and soft ground should provide ideal conditions for the Brian Ellison-trained Robeam who has recorded three wins on the Flat, two on the all-weather and one on Turf.
After joining Ellison from the Richard Fahey stable in 2019, Robeam was quick off the mark for his new connections with a soft-ground victory over hurdles at Sedgefield.
On his most recent start, the five-year-old gelding beat his eleven rivals over an extended 2m at Wolverhampton. Off a mark just 2lb higher, the mount of Ben Robinson must have a good chance of following up with a similar performance.
Since joining the Micky Hammond stable, this will be the first run on turf in eleven starts for The Resdev Way, who looks the main danger if able to transfer his all-weather form to this surface.
Our Tip for the 3.44pm at Pontefract:
Top weight Fauvette is almost certainly the one to beat in this 6f handicap following the fillies’ comfortable Yarmouth victory of last month on just her third run on turf. A 5lb higher mark will make things tougher for the grey but the daughter of Dark Angel looks to be much better than a 75-rated performer.
Trainer Rae Guest has an excellent record with fillies and the booking of Andre Atzeni for the top weight certainly takes the eye. In receipt of just 5lb, Fauvette finished second to the now 96-rated Mondammej at Newcastle last November, indicating that a mark in the mid 80’s is not beyond the light-raced filly.
In a field of mainly exposed rivals, the in-form pair of Motawaazy and Captain Jameson may prove the main dangers to the selection.
