The Best Horse Racing Tips for Leicester, Pontefract & Windsor on Monday

Four Flat meetings take place in Britain on Monday, Lingfield and Leicester in the afternoon and Pontefract and Windsor in the evening. We will provide a Horse Racing tip, preview and prediction for one race from each of the last three named tracks.

At Leicester we will look at the seven-runner 1m 2f Class 4 handicap at 2.00pm. While in the evening we will supply Horse Racing tips for Pontefract’s Class 5 five furlong sprint handicap at 7.15pm and Windsor’s 1m finale at 8.30pm.

Our Tip for the 2.00pm at Leicester:

A decent field of unexposed three-year-old’s for this 1m 2f handicap, headed by joint top weights No Recollection and Camelot Tales. However, with only 7lb covering all seven runners, the race is more about future potential rather than current ratings.

One horse who could end the season on a much higher mark than the 83 he has been allotted for his first run in a handicap is the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Thunder Sun.

The mount of Ryan Moore, after failing to beat a single rival on his juvenile debut at Sandown last July, was not seen again until two months later when just scraping home in a novices stakes at Kempton.

The Siyouni colt almost certainly needed his first run of the season when finishing third at Windsor last month and with plenty of improvement expected can take this before stepping up in grade.

Our Tip for the 7.15pm at Pontefract:

An impressive winner on his first outing for trainer Paul Midgley over today’s course and distance in April, the ex Richard Fahey inmate Ventura Express has failed to follow-up, despite being sent off favourite, on his two subsequent starts.

A combination of soft ground and being slowly away after fly jumping leaving the stalls meant that the Mayson gelding was never able to get competitive on the course last time out. But providing the mount of Kevin Stott can get a better start on this occasion, the four-year-old can take full advantage of his berth in stall one and fulfil his earlier promise.

Old rival Dapper Man and narrow Newmarket fourth Young Tiger could be the ones to take advantage should the selection miss the break once again.

Our Tip for the 8.30pm at Windsor:

Plenty of contenders for this Class 6 contest are having their first run in a handicap, so the betting is going to be very informative. Devil’s Cub and Gone Mod have both shown decent form recently at this level and should not be far away once again. But the horse who makes most appeal is the Tom Clover-trained Marienplatz.

The mount of talented 5lb claimer Laura Pearson, following five less than inspiring runs on the all-weather, finally showed a glimmer of form when finishing a promising third at Kempton just over two months ago.

The three-year-old filly did even better on her most recent start, again at Kempton, when finding only Final Fantasy a head too good, with fellow rival Devil’s Cub (5lb worse off) a neck back in third. The progressive daughter of New Bay won’t have to improve too much to take this moderate contest, her first start on turf.
