Horse Racing Flat action on Tuesday afternoon comes from the Scottish meeting at Musselburgh. We will provide Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions for three races on the eight-race card, starting with the 2.20pm contest, a handicap run over 1m 1f.
We will also supply Horse Racing tips for the final two races of the day, an extended 1m 4f handicap at 4.38pm, and at 5.08pm a Class 6 handicap run over the minimum trip.
Our Tip for the 2.20pm at Musselburgh:
While both Cruyff Turn and Ayr Poet are respected on recent form, this nine furlong handicap looks to concern the Roger Fell-trained Cockalorum, and Bringitonboris from the Keith Dalgleish stable, with preference for the latter.
Cockalorum’s excellent fourth in the Sky Bet Handicap at last year’s Ebor festival would make the mount of Jason Hart hard to beat off the same mark of 86, especially with the six-year-old’s encouraging second on his reappearance at Newcastle last month.
However, conditions look perfect for Bringitonboris following an encouraging run at York recently when appearing to find the seven furlong trip a little on the sharp side.
Graham Lee’s mount was slowly away and raced in last place for most of the early part of that race on the Knavesmire until making good late headway, staying-on into fourth, one place in front of Saturday’s Haydock winner Molls Memory. Off the same mark and with an extra two furlongs to cover, Bringitonboris should take plenty of beating.
Our Tip for the 4.38pm at Musselburgh:
In a field mainly consisting of exposed contenders, it could be worth giving the Ivan Furtado-trained Scudamore another chance to compensate his supporters for a recent odds-on defeat at Ayr.
The lightly-raced four-year-old, on just his fourth start to date, had previously run out an easy winner of a 1m 4f handicap at Southwell, coming home by an easy six lengths.
That surprise defeat at Ayr may have been down to the fact that the mount of amateur Serena Brotherton, along with Cheese And Wine, went off too quickly, resulting in the Dawn Approach gelding unable to find any extra towards the end of the race.
Granted more restrained tactics, the mount of Jason Hart is fancied to continue his progression with a victory in this modest contest. Spycracker and talented claimer Ella McCain can follow the selection home.
Our Tip for the 5.08pm at Musselburgh:
Mehmo, Albegone and She’s A Deva look the three to concentrate on for this three-year-old handicap run over the minimum trip of 5f. The Michael Appleby-trained Mehmo is the one with the most experience, as this will be the 16th start for the son of Mehmas.
The mount of Jason Hart looked likely to open his account soon following a close second at Beverley earlier this month. But the gelding has since finished a slightly disappointing fourth on soft ground at Ripon.
Albegone and She’s A Deva finished second and fourth respectively in a 16-runner handicap at Redcar last week. And on the same terms the Tim Easterby-trained contender is fancied to confirm that form, as this will be just the fifth career start for the son of Alhebayeb who is open to more improvement than his main rivals.
