The Best Horse Racing Tips for Nottingham & Chelmsford

Tuesday may not offer the best Horse Racing action of the week so we will concentrate on the two evening fixtures, at Nottingham and Chelmsford, for today’s Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions.

We will supply Horse Racing tips for two races at Nottingham, those taking place at 6.45pm and 7.15pm. Our each-way longshot selection comes in Chelmsford’s Class 2 six furlong sprint handicap at 7.05pm.

Our Tip for the 6.45pm at Nottingham:

Since joining trainer Tristan Davidson from Vic Thompson in May the dual purpose De Mazzaro has been the subject of a couple of gambles, finishing a narrow second at Beverley (5/4) before going one better when backed into evens for an extended 1m 4f handicap at Musselburgh.

The mount of Phil Dennis still races off a mark of only 48 in this 1m 6f contest and looks the one to beat over a trip which could see the ex hurdler (in fifth place when falling at the final flight in Cheltenham’s Grade 3 Greatwood Hurdle in 2019) in an even better light.

Hidden Pearl, the mount of Megan Nicholls, looked the most likely winner at Doncaster on her most recent start (finished third) before the mare’s stamina seemed to run out over the extended 2m on soft ground. Off bottom weight, John Berry’s charge is the other one to consider along with the lightly-raced Whitwell.

Our Tip for the 7.05pm at Chelmsford:

Several of these sprinters have shown a preference for an all-weather surface, including top weight May Sonic and Sir Oliver. The former ran a stormer to be beaten a neck in Newcastle’s Gosforth Park Cup last time.

But it is the horse who was sent off the 9/2 favourite for that valuable sprint handicap, before finishing a two and a quarter length eighth – Aljady – who is fancied to reverse the form on 6lb better terms in the hands of in-form jockey Sean Levey.

The six-year-old’s only other attempt on an artificial surface was when losing out by a nose to May Sonic (5lb worse off ) over today’s course and distance in April and for a stable that does so well with it’s sprinters is expected to run a big race.

Our Tip for the 7.15pm at Nottingham:

The ultra-consistent Celtic Empress looks sure to run her usual game race here, while the Mark Johnston-trained Wise Judgement is clearly better than her disappointing run behind that horse at Hamilton last month.

Both fillies may have to settle for minor honours however behind Professional Widow who should appreciate this drop in class having contested Royal Ascot’s Sandringham Stakes and a hot Newmarket handicap on her most recent starts.

Prior to that, the daughter of Markaz had won over today’s course and distance. Off a mark just 2lb higher, Hayley Turner’s mount is fancied to get back to winning ways for trainer Richard Spencer.
