The Best Horse Racing Tips for Pontefract & Windsor

Windsor’s feature race on Monday evening is the Class 2 Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap at 7.00pm. We will provide a Horse Racing tip, preview and prediction for the 6f contest which has attracted a field of 13 sprinters.

At Pontefract in the afternoon we will supply Horse Racing tips for their main race, the Class 2 Spindrifter Conditions Stakes for juveniles and also run over 6f, at 3.25pm. And just over an hour later at 4.30pm, the 1m six-runner Graham Clough Memorial Handicap.

Our Tip for the 3.25pm at Pontefract:

Only six runners for this conditions race for juveniles featuring a couple of horses who were not disgraced at Royal Ascot last week. The George Boughey-trained Hellomydarlin had little chance racing up the stands side in the Albany and is better judged on his debut victory at Goodwood.

At a bigger price however, Coventry Stakes eleventh Dashing Rat could prove a better value bet as the son of Adaay had previously finished runner-up to a couple of decent two-year-old’s in Oscula and Desert Dreamer.

The mount of Lewis Edmunds was beaten only five and a half lengths in Ascot’s Group 2 and could have the race set up nicely with Gis A Sub and Sam Maximus expected to make the running from their low draws.

Our Tip for the 4.30pm at Pontefract:

Yet to get his head in front, it could be a case of 21st time lucky for the Micky Hammond-trained Frankelio, who must surely break his duck before too long following two creditable efforts this season.

Third of 16 at Thirsk on his reappearance, the mount of Graham Lee beat all bar subsequent Royal Ascot winner Lola Showgirl on his most recent start in an amatuer riders handicap at York, with the third horse some four lengths away.

The Frankel gelding runs off the same mark of 69 here and will be hard to beat with a similar performance. The consistent Delgrey Boy can follow the selection home.

Our Tip for the 7.00pm at Windsor:

Great Habton trainer Tim Easterby sends two horses down to Windsor for this Class 2 sprint handicap, the Saffie Osborne-ridden Flying Pursuit and Hyperfocus, the mount of Rossa Ryan.

Both runners have a chance against their southern counterparts, in particular the latter who looks to have plenty in his favour and is taken to record his seventh career victory from 43 starts.

The last time the Intense Focus gelding got his head in front was at Haydock last September, on soft ground and off a mark of 86. While the going at the Berkshire track is unlikely to be as testing, recent rain ensures that the word firm will not feature in the ground description.

The seven-year-old has struggled a bit since that win off higher marks but was beaten just three lengths in a very competitive handicap at Haydock on his most recent start.

Back down to a rating of 86, Hyperfocus looks ready to open his account for the season. Stablemate Flying Pursuit should not be far away, while top weight Punchbowl Flyer is respected following his eighth place in last Saturday’s Wokingham when drawn on the wrong side of the course.
