The Best Horse Racing Tips for York on Saturday

Saturday is Sky Bet Ebor day on the Knavesmire and we will provide a Horse Racing tip, preview and prediction for this historic £500,000 one mile six furlong handicap, due to get underway at 3.35pm.

We will also supply Horse Racing tips for two other races at York, the opening Group 3 Strensall Stakes at 1.50pm and at 3.00pm the Group 2 City Of York Stakes.

Our Tip for the 1.50pm at York:

Runaway Royal Hunt Cup winner Real World is expected to go off at a short price for this nine furlong Group 3 contest. However, the ratings suggest there is only a few pounds covering most of the seven runners, including the David O’Meara-trained Lord Glitters who looks decent value at a double figure price.

The eight-year-old has been a great servant for connections since coming from France in 2017 winning seven races including two Group 1’s. Winner of this race in 2018 as well as finishing a close third 12 months ago, the mount of Daniel Tudhope has run only twice in Britain this season, finishing fourth behind Palace Pier on both occasions.

The grey son of Whipper faces nothing that calibre here and despite having to concede weight all round is more than capable of coming out on top.

Our Tip for the 3.00pm at York:

The Classic division have been more than holding their own against the older generation this season and Primo Bacio, the only three-year-old in the field, can take this Group 2 contest providing the daughter of Awtaad enjoys a better passage than has been the case on her last two starts.

A hugely impressive winner of a Listed race on the Knavesmire back in May, Tom Marquand’s mount has not enjoyed the best of luck since then, finishing a length and a half fifth in Newmarket’s Falmouth Stakes before going down by two lengths when involved in some scrimmaging behind Mother Earth in Deauville’s Prix Rothschild, both Group 1 contests.

Ed Walker’s charge will be unfortunate to encounter more trouble in this nine-runner contest and the filly is strongly fancied to gain some well deserved compensation at the main expense of likely favourite Space Blues and Highfield Princess.

Our Tip for the 3.35pm at York:

There would be no more fitting winner of this famous handicap than top weight Euchan Glen who has to be one of the most popular horses in training at the moment.

On the face of it, the Authorized gelding faces a herculean task with 10st 2lb to shoulder, especially following a rare below-par effort at Haydock two weeks ago.

While Paul Mulrennan’s mount has to concede weight all round, there is only 15lb covering the entire field and 8lb the top ten. That Haydock effort may have come too soon for Euchan Glen who had just been touched off in a Goodwood Group 3 contest a week earlier.

Fifth behind fellow rival Fujaira Prince in this race 12 months ago, the selection has won three Group 3 races since then and at a big price is fancied to make the frame at the very least.

As you would expect, a strong case can be made for most of the field, in particular Mt Leinster from the powerful Willie Mullins stable and the William Haggas quartet of Hamish, Ilaraab, Roberto Escobarr and Pablo Escobar.
