The Best Horse Horse Racing Tips for Southwell on Tuesday

Tuesday’s Horse Racing action is very much of the modest variety, with meetings taking place on the all-weather surfaces at Newcastle and Wolverhampton, together with national hunt cards at Lingfield and Southwell.

We will provide Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions from the East Midlands course, starting with a novices’ limited handicap chase at 1.00pm. The other two races we will supply tips for are the 3m handicap hurdle at 2.32pm and half an hour later at 3.02pm, the 3m Follow At The Races On Twitter Novices’ Hurdle.

Our Tip for the 1.00pm at Southwell:

Seven runners for this novices’ limited handicap chase, headed by Shanacoole Prince, from the in-form Kim Bailey stable, and the Seamus Mullins-trained Playa Blanca, both of which are making their debuts over the bigger obstacles.

The former has plenty of experience in point to points however, winning one of his eight starts, while the latter has been in good form over hurdles this year with four victories from seven outings.

The Dan Skelton-trained Getariver failed to beat a rival on his only chase start to date, so, unless one of the two newcomers proves good enough, the one to beat is Glajou, the representative from the powerful Ditcheat stable of Paul Nicholls.

The four-year-old son of Network finished fourth on his first start over fences at Chepstow three weeks ago. But was only beaten a little over two lengths. The mount of Harry Cobden, having just his fourth outing since joining Nicholls from France, is open to plenty of improvement and can win this moderate contest off what could prove a lenient mark of 124.

Our Tip for the 2.32pm at Southwell:

Plenty of out of form horses in this three mile stamina test. The Tim Vaughan-trained Laugharne would be of interest if a recent wind op proves a success for this course and distance winner, who has been well beaten in two starts this season.

Poppa Poutine, Peachey and Brummie Boys are all lightly-raced and the betting is sure to be a good guide to their chances. But the booking of Richard Johnson for the Neil Mulholland-trained Heavey may prove significant for a horse who has already recorded two victories over hurdles, one of which was on soft ground.

The Trans Island gelding will find this a lot easier than when finishing 11th at Cheltenham last time. A reproduction of the six-year-old’s head second to Chanceanotherfive at Perth in September should be good enough to take this contest.

Our Tip for the 3.02pm at Southwell:

This three mile hurdle race for novices looks to concern four of the ten runners, Barbados Buck’s, Bobby Bow, Fantastikas and Mr Harp. The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Fantastikas will need to jump a lot better than when second on his hurdling debut at Stratford if he is to play a leading role here.

Barbados Buck’s is closely matched with Mr Harp, the former beating the latter by just over two lengths over course and distance recently, but now 7lb worse off at the weights. The one to beat though, could be the Ben Pauling-trained Bobby Bow who made it all to beat favourite Kings Cave on heavy ground at Hexham on his hurdling debut recently. The mount of 7lb claimer Luca Morgan, winner of a point-to-point last year, looks a nice prospect.
