The Best Horse Racing Tips for Market Rasen & Wincanton on Thursday

Jump racing has the scene to itself on Thursday afternoon, courtesy of the meetings at Market Rasen, Wincanton, Leicester and Clonmel in Ireland. We will provide Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions for two races from Market Rasen and one from Wincanton.

The feature hurdle race at the Somerset racecourse is a Class 3 handicap hurdle run over 1m 7f at 2.45pm. We will supply a Horse Racing tip for this nine-runner contest together with the 1.52pm and 2.52pm races from the Lincolnshire track.

Our Tip for the 1.52pm at Market Rasen:

Avoir De Soins, a winner over fences at Lingfield 12 months ago, is of interest on his first start for trainer Jonjo O’Neill since leaving the stable of Anthony Honeyball recently. The seven-year-old is probably best watched on his first outing for eight months however, something which won’t be an issue for the Christopher Kellett-trained Begoodtoyourself.

The mount of Harry Reed has finished second on his last three starts, the most recent when beating all bar top weight Dreamsundermyfeet at Huntingdon last month. Still a maiden after 15 runs over fences, this is probably the best chance yet for the Getaway gelding to open his account in a race where decent recent form is thin on the ground.

Our Tip for the 2.45pm at Wincanton:

Joint top weight Tulin and last year’s November Handicap winner On To Victory both hold strong claims in this Class 3 handicap hurdle. Both horses ran well in defeat last month and look sure to go well. But on his first run in a handicap, the Mrs Jane Williams-trained Honneur D’Ajonc makes plenty of appeal off an opening mark of 122.

Runner-up behind leading juvenile Monmiral on his debut over hurdles 12 months ago, the gelding looked an unlucky loser on his next start at Kempton’s Christmas meeting when, in the lead and going well, the son of Diamond Boy fell at the final flight.

A couple of disappointing efforts followed, again at Kempton and over in France, but the mount of Chester Williams has begun to realise that earlier promise during the last couple of months, winning modest affairs at Hereford and Taunton. A mark of 122 may have underestimated the ability of the unexposed performer who is fancied to prevail on his handicap debut.

Our Tip for the 2.52pm at Market Rasen:

The consistent Misscarlett is probably the one to beat here based on her recent course and distance victory. A rise of 3lb appears far from harsh for the six-year-old mare who looks sure to go close once again.

However, the each-way value of the race may lie with the veteran 12-year-old Kilcaragh Boy from the stable of Richard Armson. A surprise 66/1 winner at Hexham last October off a 3lb higher mark, the son of King’s Theatre has several pieces of form which puts him in the mix here and the mount of 7lb claimer Philip Armson should strip fitter following a run at Hexham last month.
