The Best Horse Racing Tips for Salisbury on Thursday

Horse Racing tips for the meeting at Salisbury on Thursday afternoon
At 3/1 a £10 bet would return £40

The only Turf Flat racing scheduled for Thursday afternoon comes from the meeting at Salisbury. We will provide Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions for three of the races taking place, starting with a 6f Conditions Stakes at 3.32pm.

Our second Horse Racing tip comes in the 4.07pm contest, a Class 4 sprint handicap, also run over 6f. Our final tip of the day follows 35minutes later at 4.42pm, an eight-runner Class 2 handicap run over 1m 2f.

Our Tip for the 3.32pm at Salisbury:

The Richard Hannon-trained Witch Hunter should come on for his promising debut second at Newbury earlier this month. But this juvenile contest looks to concern previous winners Ribhi and Tolstoy, with preference for the latter.

Course and distance winner Ribhi is going to be a tough nut to crack following the Dark Angel colt’s subsequent two length fifth in a Doncaster Listed race, despite failing to get the clearest of runs. However, the return to good to soft conditions and a recent gelding operation may just tip things in favour of the John Gosden-trained Tolstoy.

After making a winning debut at Yarmouth (good to soft) the son of Kingman failed to make an impact in Royal Ascot’s Coventry Stakes and the July Stakes at Newmarket. Slowly away at the royal meeting and too free at headquarters, the mount of Rob Havlin is clearly still a juvenile with tremendous potential and can get his career back on track with a victory in this less testing contest.

Our Tip for the 4.07pm at Salisbury:

Joint bottom weight Bella Notte is fancied to open her account for the season in the hands of 7lb claimer Liam Browne. A winner over 7f on this course last September, the filly is clearly more at home over this furlong shorter trip, the daughter of Twilight Son’s only disappointing run in 2021 coming over an extra furlong on Lingfield’s all-weather surface in August.

Narrowly beaten on her first two starts this season, both over today’s course and distance, Richard Hannon’s charge probably has her ideal conditions here and looks sure to run her usual game race. As you would expect in a 12-runner sprint handicap there are plenty of potential dangers, headed by Spanish Star and Igotatext.

Our Tip for the 4.42pm at Salisbury:

A late non runner in last Saturday’s Cambridgeshire due to the fast ground, the Paul & Oliver Cole-trained Majestic Dawn can gain some minor compensation by defying top weight in this Class 2 mile and a quarter handicap.

The son of Dawn Approach ran away with that historic handicap at headquarters last year, putting almost five lengths between himself and his 26 rivals. The five-year-old looked as if his season had been planned around becoming the first back-to-back Cambridgeshire winner since Prince de Galles in 1969/70, only for the lightning fast conditions to spoil what could have been a memorable day for the stable.

A decent third in a Group 3 contest at Haydock on his most recent start, Majestic Dawn will be well suited by today’s trip and ground, with the booking of 7lb claimer Mohammed Tabti also a positive. The main dangers may come from further down the handicap in the shape of Prince Of Harts and Rebel Territory.
