The Best Horse Racing Tips for Doncaster on Thursday

The two feature races on the second day of Docaster’s St Leger meeting are both Group 2 contests, the Cazoo May Hill Stakes at 2.40pm and thirty five minutes later at 3.15pm the Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes. We will provide a Horse Racing tip, preview and prediction for the latter, run over one mile six and a half furlongs.

We will also supply Horse Racing tips for the races taking place at 2.10pm, the Weatherbys Scientific £200,000 2-Y-O Stakes, and at 3.45pm the Cazoo Handicap run over seven furlongs.

Our Tip for the 2.10pm at Doncaster:

The in-form pair of Ever Given and Harrow are the most likely of the 22 contenders to take this valuable juvenile contest, with the winner’s connections set to receive a handy £98,360.

However, in a race where the draw could well play a significant role, and with many bookmakers going five or six places, an each-way bet on the Godolphin-owned Home City could pay dividends.

A decent tenth in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot on just his second start, Hector Crouch’s mount has improved with each run since the royal meeting and would have won his last two but for losing the race in the stewards room at Newbury before recording a comfortable victory at Chelmsford on his most recent outing last month.

The Saeed bin Suroor-trained son of Profitable could be well drawn on the rails in stall 22 and this prominent racer is fancied to make a bold bid from the front.

Our Tip for the 3.15pm at Doncaster:

While the likes of Golden Pass, Silence Please and Tribal Craft have solid form at this level, this Group 2 contest looks to concern the Classic generation, in particular the progressive Free Wind and Cazoo Oaks fourth Save A Forest.

The Ralph Beckett-trained Yesyes has won three of her four starts to date but only just scraped home at Chester last time and is held by Save A Forest, who beat Ryan Moore’s mount comfortably at Newmarket on the final day of July in a 1m 4f Listed race.

Roger Varian’s charge, after winning minor contests at Wolverhampton and Windsor, has performed with much credit in better class on her last three starts and the mount of Callum Shepherd may prove even better over this longer trip.

The big danger has to be the John & Thady Gosden-trained Free Wind following the progressive fillies’ Deauville Group 3 victory of last month. However, on form there is little between the two three-year-olds, so from a value perspective Save A Forest gets the vote.

Our Tip for the 3.45pm at Doncaster:

Motawaajed, from the William Haggas stable, is on a hat-trick here following victories at Lingfield and over today’s course and distance last month. The grey son of Dark Angel is respected but Jim Crowley’s mount may struggle to contain the Godolphin runner Modern News.

The Shamardal gelding showed plenty of promise in three starts as a juvenile, including a debut victory over stablemate Noble Dynasty at Newmarket. Making his seasonal reappearance back at headquarters five weeks ago, William Buick’s mount always looked to be holding main market rival Final Watch, eventually coming home by half a length.

Charlie Appleby’s lightly-raced charge could prove much better than his current rating of 96 and is fancied to take this 7f handicap before stepping up in class.
