Tuesday’s jumps action in Britain comes from the meetings at Southwell and Sedgefield. We go to the County Durham trace for today’s Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions, starting with a 3m 3f handicap chase at 1.10pm.
At 1.45pm, a 2m 1f handicap chase is the scene of our second Horse Racing tip, while our final selection on the card runs in the following ‘hands and heels’ handicap hurdle at 2.15pm, also run over 2m 1f.
Our Tip for the 1.10pm at Sedgefield:
Kaphumor won on his first start for Sue Smith since leaving the stable of Oliver Sherwood recently when making all for a comfortable victory at Hexham earlier this month.
That didn’t look the strongest of contests however (favourite Banana Joe fell when going well two-out) and a 10lb higher mark makes things tougher for the mount of 5lb claimer Thomas Willmott who is worth taking on at a short price.
Regaby, a course and distance winner just under two weeks ago, is capable of following up off a mark just 4lb higher but at a double-figure price the Alison Hamilton-trained Skyhill offers something in the way of value.
The winner of three of his 10 starts over fences (the most recent off a 5lb higher mark), the fitness of Jamie Hamilton’s mount has to be taken on trust on his first run since May. But the Gold Well gelding finished second of 13 after a three month break in 2019 and is worth taking a chance with, in a race that may not take much winning.
Our Tip for the 1.45pm at Sedgefield:
The Donald McCain-trained Obey The Rules opened his account over fences with a clear-cut victory at Hereford on the first day of November. While failing to follow up three days later, that race may have come too soon for the son of Rule Of Law. who posts obvious claims of winning for the second time this month.
However, with some good course form to his name, Six One Nine, from the Chris Grant stable, is fancied to come out on top. Sean Quinlan’s mount won here on his debut over fences back in April before finding only Cawthorne too good on his return to the track the following month.
Sent off a well-backed favourite on his reappearance at Kelso last month, the six-year-old, after making much of the running, weakened late on to finish in midfield. That was Six One Nine’s first run for nearly five months and the gelding, with that run under his belt, looks sure to go close.
Our Tip for the 2.15pm at Sedgefield:
After finishing second over hurdles at Musselburgh two years ago, the Donald McCain-trained Court Jurado was sent over the bigger obstacles, winning one of his 14 starts over fences, a modest handicap at Fakenham 12 months ago.
Reverting back to hurdles last month, the mount of conditional jockey Peter Kavanagh failed by a short head to hold off the late challenge of short priced favourite Ten Past Midnight at Uttoxeter. Second again on his most recent start, also at that track behind a totally unexposed three-year-old in Gavin, connections look to have found an ideal opportunity for the seven-year-old to open his account for the season.
Recent course winner Wilhelm Vonvenster and the consistent Lord Caprio look to be the main dangers along with bottom weight Baraboy.
