The Best Horse Racing Tips for Catterick on Tuesday

Horse Racing action in Britain on Tuesday comes from the afternoon meetings at Catterick, Goodwood and Leicester, while Windsor’s twilight card gets underway at 4.15pm.

We will go to the North Yorkshire track for today’s Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions starting with a 7f handicap at 2.35pm. We will also supply Horse Racing tips for the final two races on the card, a 5f sprint handicap at 4.10pm and at 4.40pm a 1m 6f amateur jockeys’ handicap.

Our Tip for the 2.35pm at Perth:

A wide-open 7f handicap but the step-up in trip could bring about some improvement in the Tim Easterby-trained Obee Jo, a winner on four occasions over a furlong less.

The mount of talented 5lb claimer Ella McCain, after a comfortable victory at Carlisle in July, has looked to be crying out for this extra furlong on the gelding’s most recent starts, in particular when finishing a staying-on fifth here two weeks ago.

Providing the gaps come for the son of Kodiac from his berth in stall eight, Obee Jo can prove the each-way value of the race against main dangers Tamaska, Mr Strutter and Distinction.

Our Tip for the 4.10pm at Catterick:

To say that the Scott Dixon-trained Dark Shot has been kept on the go this season would be an understatement, as this will be the 17th outing of the year for the well-travelled eight-year-old.

While unable to get his head in front during the last eight months, the mount of 5lb claimer Kieran Schofield has finished runner-up five times and off a career-low mark of 67 a victory in this Class 4 handicap would certainly not be out of turn.

For one reason or another, things have not gone according to plan for the gelding recently. But a reproduction of his second to fellow rival Militia over course and distance in July may be good enough to make it 17th time lucky for the popular sprinter.

With the likes of Dapper Man and Astrozone in opposition, there should be plenty of pace up front, which should suit Dark Shot who is expected to challenge late and fast.

Our Tip for the 4.40pm at Catterick:

Top amateur Simon Walker will be fancied by many to take this 1m 6f contest for trainer Roger Varian following the fillies’ victory at Wetherby on her only start this season, and off a possible lenient mark of 70.

However, the daughter of Mastercraftsman faces a couple of serious rivals in Captain Haddock and Lockdown Dream, with preference for the former, from the in-form Heather Main stable.

Mr Henry Main has forged a great partnership with the four-year-old with form figures reading 2-1-3-1, the most recent being an impressive four length victory in the Amateurs’ Derby Handicap at Epsom on Bank Holiday Monday.

A 5lb penalty for that win is negated by the rider’s claim and with this two furlong longer trip unlikely to pose a problem, the Make Believe gelding is fancied to win for the third time this season.
