The Best Horse Racing Tips for Nottingham on Tuesday

Despite the fact that we are still in summer, three of the four meetings taking place on Tuesday will be run on an all-weather surface, those being at Wolverhampton, Lingfield and Chelmsford.

Flat Horse Racing action on turf comes from Colwick Park in Nottingham and it is there we go for today’s Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions.

Our Tip for the 3.35pm at Nottingham:

Second in a similar race at Beverley back in June, the Charles Hills-trained Motagally is expected to start favourite for this Class 3 Conditions Stakes run over the minimum trip. Jim Crowley’s mount has an absence of eight weeks to overcome however and the impression is that the five-year-old may be better over a slightly longer trip.

The veteran Danzeno won by six lengths over course and distance two years ago and cannot be discounted along with Dubai Station from the Robert Cowell stable. But this looks a good opportunity for the Paul Midgley-trained Tarboosh to open his account for the season.

The Bahamian Bounty gelding has won 11 of his 41 starts on turf, the most recent when recording a comfortable victory in Doncaster’s Listed Scarborough Stakes on his final start of 2020.

While yet to trouble the judge this year, including when behind Motagally at Beverley (pulled too hard), Kevin Stott’s mount has been far from disgraced. Beaten less than five lengths when seventh behind Nunthorpe leading fancy Winter Power at York last month, Tarboosh will not find a better opportunity all season to get back into the winners’ enclosure.

Our Tip for the 4.10pm at Nottingham:

Trainer Eric Alston holds a strong hand in this seven-runner sprint handicap, being responsible for the two horses at the foot of the weights, Boudica Bay and Captain Corcoran.

The recent form of the two sprinters could not be more different, with the former on a hat-trick following victories here and at Haydock on the mare’s two most recent starts. While the latter has yet to make the frame in two runs this year.

However, the mount of Jason Hart will be racing off a 10lb higher mark than when winning over course and distance in June, unlike her stablemate who is now on a career-low rating of just 61.

The son of Anjaal, despite finishing last of eight at Hamilton last month, almost certainly needed that run following a break of more than three months and was still only beaten a little over three lengths after making much of the running.

David Allen’s mount should be much fitter on this occasion and if allowed to dominate from the front in stall seven, could take some pegging back, especially if reproducing the form of his win at Catterick of 12 months ago.

Our Tip for the 4.45pm at Nottingham:

A wide-open 6f sprint handicap in which most of the 16-runner field can be given a chance, in particular the consistent Rebel Redemption, course and distance winner Red Bravo and Kolossus, who will be having just his third start for current trainer David Thompson.

However, despite racing from 1lb out of the handicap, the Richard Price-trained filly Rhubarb has been threatening to get her head in front all season and with talented 5lb claimer Mollie Phillips in the saddle for the first time, the four-year-old, beaten a total of only seven and a half lengths on her last four starts is fancied to make the frame at a decent price.
