The Best Horse Racing Tips for Hamilton & Carlisle on Tuesday

Horse Racing tips for the meetings at Hamilton & Carlisle on Tuesday
At 5/4 a £10 bet would return £23

Tuesday’s Horse Racing tips, previews and predictions come from the meeting at Hamilton, courtesy of the Class 3 Scottish Trophy Handicap, run over 1m 1f at 3.25pm, together with the earlier 5f handicap due to take place at 2.15pm.

Our best bet however comes in the day’s finale at Carlisle, the 10-runner 1m 3f Follow @mansionbet The Bestival Season Handicap which closes the day’s proceedings at 8.05pm.

Our Tip for the 2.15pm at Hamilton:

A wide-open sprint handicap, run over the minimum trip, in which Rose Bandit, Wade’s Magic and Iris Dancer are just three who hold decent claims. The value however, may lie with bottom weight Stronsay the mount of 3lb claimer Billy Garritty.

Liam Bailey’s charge boasts a fine record at the track, with form figures reading 2-1-2-3, the most recent when going down by only three quarters of a length behind Soapys Sister and fellow rival Shesadabber last month.

The Gale Force Ten gelding is probably more effective over another furlong. But the race could be run to suit with plenty of pace up front, making the five-year-old a decent value each-way bet at a double-figure price.

Our Tip for the 3.25pm at Hamilton:

A 5lb penalty may be just enough to prevent the Keith Dalgleish-trained top weight Platinumcard from landing a hat-trick of victories, despite regular claiming pilot Billy Garrity taking 3lb off.

The unexposed Rich Dream is interesting off an opening handicap mark of 79. But it is southern raider Legendary Day who makes most appeal in the hands of Daniel Tudhope.

The Hughie Morrison-trained son of Adaay, following a fine effort when finishing a close second at Windsor on his first run of the season, went on to record easy victories at Nottingham and Leicester before stepping up in class for a competitive handicap at Newmarket’s July meeting.

Legendary Day lost nothing in defeat at headquarters, beating all bar Godolphin’s Path Of Thunder and the John & Thady Gosden-trained Tenbury Wells. This extra furlong could see the selection in an even better light and with a rating of 83, still looks a few pounds ahead of the handicapper.

Our Tip for the 8.05pm at Carlisle:

Victorious in an apprentice handicap at Doncaster on Saturday, it looks to be a case of striking while the iron is hot for connections of the unexposed Buford who is surely well ahead of the handicapper on a mark of just 61.

The three-year-old son of Lawman showed only minor promise in three runs as a juvenile. But following a gelding operation and a break of 242 days the Grant Tuer-trained performer looked a totally different proposition three days ago on Town Moor.

After chasing the leaders in that six-runner contest, Buford took the lead approaching the final furlong and stayed on strongly to win going away. A reproduction of that effort should be more than good enough for Sam James’ mount to follow up before being reassessed by the handicapper.

The in-form Detective can follow the selection home, although the triple course and distance winner is now some 18lb higher than when opening his account back in May.
