Delhi Capitals v Rajasthan Royals
TATA Indian Premier League
Friday April 22, 2022
Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai (3pm UK)
Friday sees the back-to-form Delhi Capitals host the title-chasing Rajasthan Royals.
Delhi have, perhaps surprisingly, won only three of their six matches to date. But they go into this on the back of their thrashing of Punjab Kings on Wednesday, when they rolled their opponents for just 115 and knocked off the runs in quick time, in-turn boosting their net run-rate.
Delhi to build on Kings win to make it a right Royal week

And I’m with Delhi to win this one as well.
Rajasthan started with back-to-back wins but they have struggled for consistency since then, winning and losing in-turn.
They’ll need to improve on that if they are to play a serious part in the closing stages, a point I’m sure not lost on director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara.
He may be able to work some magic and chart a smoother course for his team but Delhi, despite some Covid issues of late, gave the impression on Wednesday that they are fast becoming a well-oiled unit and I’ll take them to record another victory at 11/10 with Betfair.
David sends Warn-ing to his rivals
Who else but David Warner was a key player with the bat for the Capitals. and he has had a super series so far (191 runs in four games).
With the exception of his opening match in the 2022 Indian Premier League, Warner has been outstanding.
Hitting 61 against Kolkata Knight Riders, 66 against Royal Challengers Bangalore and then 60 not out in the win against Punjab, he is one of the in-form batters in the competition – and there is no reason why he can’t continue that here.
For me, he’s short odds to be top-scorer for a reason and I’d recommend siding with Warner to be top dog again for his team. Ladbrokes have priced him up at 11/4 for this market.
Into the bargain, he’s a likely contender for player of the match for which he is trading at 15/2 with bet365 and if he does go big again, as we hope, then he’d be a major player in that market.
Betfair are also offering 11/2 on the double for Warner to top-score for Delhi and them to win the match if you agree with everything I’ve written above!
