TATA Indian Premier League
Saturday April 16 – Sunday April 17, 2022
During the Pakistan Super League, I really enjoyed getting stuck into and following the combination bets on offer from both Betfair and Paddy Power through their #OddsOnThat and #WhatOddsPaddy selections.
So, with four games on Saturday and Sunday, I have picked out a trio of these bets to follow.
The games I will concentrate on are as follows….
Gujarat Titans currently lead the IPL table on eight points with four wins from five games – that could change today if Kolkata win their game against Hyderabad – and they are in action on Sunday against struggling champions Chennai Super Kings.
On Saturday, winless Mumbai Indians face the other newbies, Lucknow Super Giants, who are handily placed for a play-off push.
And on the same day, Delhi Capitals face Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Openers to fire at the Brabourne as Mumbai tackle Lucknow
Ishan Kishan (Mumbai) and Quinton de Kock (Lucknow) have both had productive campaigns so far.
Both Betfair and Paddy Power are offering 15/8 on the openers to both score 20 plus runs, something they have done three times apiece in five games so far.

Kishan has posted scores of 81 not out, 54 and 26, while de Kock has crashed 61, 80 and 39.
Runs have flowed at the Brabourne Stadium, so I see no reason why the left-hand duo can’t get amongst it tomorrow (11am).
Six appeal for veteran pair
Betfair are offering 21/10 on David Warner and Faf du Plessis, of Delhi and Bangalore, to hit a six each.
I think that’s worth considering in Saturday afternoon’s game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai (3pm).

Now, the scores haven’t been too high there during this competition, and it could be that pace on with the new ball in the power play may well be the best time to bat.
These two will both open, and du Plessis has hit seven sixes in five games so far and Warner two in two.
Pandya to power punters with 15/2 shot
Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya is one of the most exciting all-rounders in T20 cricket, mainly because he whacks it miles.
But, after overcoming some recent issues with his back, he is bowling more and more.
Betfair have him at 15/2 to hit a six, take a wicket and take a catch for the Titans against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday afternoon in Pune (3pm).

It was something he achieved in yesterday’s win over Rajasthan Royals with 87 not out and a wicket via caught and bowled.
So far, he has hit six sixes in five games and has taken four wickets in 18.3 overs of seam. He is very much using himself as a frontline option alongside the likes of Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Shami.
He has also added a couple of catches, the area of the bet which I would probably see as the least likely of the three to land.
But I’m willing to take the chance at odds of 15/2. Fingers crossed lightning can strike twice.
