Medvedev kicked off 2022 with an unexpected loss against Ugo Humbert in the ATP Cup, but bounced back with three consecutive wins against De Minaur, Berrettini and Auger-Aliassime.

It has to be said that Medvedev has been the best performer on hard courts over the past three years, having won 46 matches and three titles only in 2021.
