Liverpool To Go Under In Europa League
Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier tips a low scoring Europa League tie as Zenit defend a two goal lead against Liverpool in tonight’s second leg.
Liverpool will be without Daniel Sturridge who is cup tied, relying on Luis Suarez to pull back the deficit from the first leg in Russia last week. The partnership between the former Chelsea striker and Suarez has inspired some great results for the Reds but the Uruguayan will carry the attacking burden alone for this one.
Matt Le Tissier tips: “I know Liverpool smashed in five goals past Swansea on the weekend but the Welsh club had the white flag up before they’d even got on the pitch. Zenit St Petersburg will be a different proposition tonight and will be scenting blood having won the first leg of their Europa League clash 2-0 in Russia last week. If Zenit score then it’s pretty much game over for Liverpool as it means they’ll have to hit four to go through. Luis Suarez will play up front on his own with the rest of the forward line either injured or cup-tied. I think it’ll be a tight game and, while the Reds might nick it, it should be a low-scoring game and under 2.5 goals appeals at 6/5 with BetVictor.”
Suarez was guilty of missing a few chances in St Petersburg but was back on the scoresheet against Swansea and will be looking to redeem himself in front of the Anfield faithful.
Zenit don’t travel well in Europe, their 1-0 win in a meaningless Champions League group game in Milan in December was their first European away win in over two years.
