Manchester United Can Get Off To Perfect Start Under Giggs
Man Utd To Win By Two
After the dismissal of David Moyes, Manchester United’s hierarchy has assembled the class of ‘92 to guide the club until the appointment of a permanent manager. Ryan Giggs takes to the dug out in temporary charge and he has been joined by Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt to help him through the final four games of the season.
Giggs can expect a rousing reception on Saturday from Old Trafford fans looking forward to his promise to “go back to playing the United way.” Relegation-threatened Norwich will be his first opponents and the bookies are convinced the Welshman will get off to a winning start, offering no better than 2/5 for the home win.
Matt Le Tissier tips: “Ryan Giggs can hardly have hoped for a better first fixture than Norwich. The Canaries have a horrid run in and look likely to go down. They’ve lost seven of their last ten, including their last four, and have hit just 11 goals on the road this campaign.
United have been good enough against the lesser teams in the league and I fancy them to win this by at least two goals. They’re 10/3 with Sky Bet to win by two and the 3-0 correct score is 10/1 with Ladbrokes.”
United have had few problems against the lower ranked clubs this season, taking 44 of their 57 points from sides in the bottom half of the table. The Red Devils also have a convincing head-to-head record against the visitors, winning the last three and five out of the last six meetings.
Norwich have lost eight of the last nine visits to Old Trafford, the other a draw to make it nine without a win. The Canaries face the prospect of losing five on the belt for the first time since 2005 when they went on to be relegated.
