Manchester United vs Celta Vigo – home win and under 2.5 goals at 11/4 on BetVictor

Manchester United’s season was seemingly disrupted by the Europa League earlier in the campaign, but now it appears the only trophy to have so far alluded them is now the main focus of boss Jose Mourinho.

United’s hopes of Champions League qualification via the top four in the Premier League look slender at best, but they find themselves in a good position in their semi final tie with Celta Vigo thanks a 1-0 win and a Marcus Rashford away goal in Spain.

Eduardo Berizzo’s side are very underrated and not one to be taken lightly. The Argentine has been seen as a possible successor to Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid because of the pair’s similarities in terms of style of play. Celta are both pacey and technical in attack and organised in defence. Ideally they would look to play on the counter attack, but the need to come out and force the issue could really benefit the Red Devils.

The biggest threat for the visitors will be former Liverpool striker Iago Aspas, who has scored 22 goals in La Liga and Europe this term. He will look to latch onto through balls, playing off the shoulder of the last defender, while drifting into the channels, which will be more of an issue if Mourinho plays three at the back.

But United should be able to put out a strong team despite injury problems this season. Paul Pogba should return in midfield, and with Rashford and Martial higher up the pitch, they will possess the pace to open up Celta. In the Premier League, they have struggled to break down teams who are happy to sit in and frustrate. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the side, despite his 28 goals, they often struggled for intensity and were too slow in the build up, which has been less of an issue since Rashford came in.

It will be a long night for United, but they should reach the final. Our Europa League betting tip here is a narrow home win with Betvictor.
