Matt's Prediction On Cardiff And Swansea
Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier tips a stalemate in what should be a fiery clash between Cardiff and Swansea at the Cardiff City Stadium today.
The South Wales derby can be relied upon to provide a fiery and passionate atmosphere, both on and off the pitch but the fixture takes on a new dimension as Cardiff and Swansea clash in the top flight for the first time in their history.
Craig Bellamy struck a beautiful 25-yard curler at the Liberty Stadium to decide the last meeting in 2011 to avenge the Swans 1-0 victory in Cardiff earlier in the season. Bellamy has been a bit part player so far this season but could return to the starting line up to captain the side on Sunday.
Swansea skipper Ashley Williams has recovered from the knock he picked up against West Ham and will lead his side who will be without winger Pablo Hernadez who hasn’t recovered from the injury that forced his substitution in the same game.
Matt Le Tissier tips: “Sunday’s big game has the potential to get feisty as there’s no love lost between Cardiff and Swansea. It’s a hard game to take a strong stand on with passions likely to be running high. A draw looks about right and that’s 12/5 with BetVictor who will refund selected bets if there’s a red card in the match”
Cardiff are looking for their first home win since the shock 3-2 win against Manchester City in their first home game of the season. Malky Mackay’s side followed with a 0-0 draw against Everton before losing the next two at Cardiff City Stadium, 0-1 v Tottenham and 1-2 v Newcastle.
Swansea are five places above Cardiff in 12th and are looking for their third away of the season having won at Wets Brom and Crystal Palace. The Swans have good record in Cardiff where they have won three, drawn three and lost one in the last seven visits.
