Newcastle Losing Trend To Continue
Arsenal To Win 3-0
Alan Pardew returns from his seven-game ban for Newcastle United’s visit to Arsenal tonight. It’s ironic the Magpies boss returns to the dug out following the head-butting incident against Hull to the scene of a previous touchline outburst where he clashed with Arsene Wenger in 2006.
Pardew is sure to remain composed at the Emirates where he will be focused on influencing his players who will need all the help they can get against Arsenal, unbeaten in the last 16 home league games. Newcastle have targeted a top ten finish which looked assured at the turn of the year but a terrible run of form sees Stoke and West Ham with chance to deny the Magpies their goal.
Matt Le Tissier tips: “Newcastle have fallen apart in the second half of this season. They’ve lost nine of their last 12 league matches and the trend is set to continue at Arsenal.
The Gunners have regained their form in time to see off Everton’s challenge for fourth and are having no trouble finding the net lately. It should be a convincing win for the home side and a correct score punt might be in order. Ladbrokes go 8/1 Arsenal to win 3-0.”
A win for Arsene Wenger’s side will look good in their battle with Everton for a Champions League place. The Toffees slipped up at St Mary’s on Saturday and victory tonight will leave the Londoners four points ahead with two games remaining.
Arsenal have won their last four meetings against Newcastle and the corresponding fixture last season witnessed an amazing 7-3 win for the Gunners. The visitors recent record is poor, have scored one and conceded 14 in a five game losing streak.
