The Seattle Seahawks have surged to the top of the NFC West, in the midst of the a 4-game winning streak.

They’ll face another division leader next, though the Tampa Bay Buccaneers happen to play in the NFC South, where no team has a winning record.

The game will be played at Allianz Arena in Munich, the first time an NFL regular season matchup will be contested in Germany.

It all gets underway Sunday (November 13) at 2:30pm

Seattle Betting Outlook

If you were wondering about Geno Smith’s resolve, he showed just how steadying a consistent presence he is as the Seahawks’ signal caller in their 31-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Smith overcame a pick-6 in the third quarter, leading three 2nd-half TD drives to lead the ‘Hawks to victory. He finished 26-for-34 for 275 yards and two TD tosses and an INT. He’s the only pivot in the NFL to throw multiple touchdown passed in seven games.

The ‘Hawks’ defense did more heavy lifting, holding Kyler Murray to 175 yards passing and sacking him five times. During their four-game streak, Seattle is tied for the NFL lead with 19 sacks, are limiting teams to 4.3 yards per play (1st) and have the second-most takeaways (7).

Part of Seattle’s success is the resurgence of a ground game — a longtime staple of a Pete Carroll offense. Rookie Kenneth Walker III as emerged as the favorite in the 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds, after piling up 424 yards rushing in the last four games.

Walker III put up his second career 100-yard game against ‘Zona, piling up 109 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns.

He’ll be going up against a talented Bucs’ front seven, though they’ve surrendered 125.2 rushing yards per game, which is the 10th-worst total in the NFL.

Tampa Bay Betting Outlook

For 58 minutes, the Buccaneers looked like their pop-gun offense was going to fail them again.

Instead, Tom Brady went vintage, using a final drive to pull out an improbable 16-13 win over the Los Angeles Rams, which put them back on top of the NFC South at 4-5.

Brady went 36-for-58 for 280 yards and a winning TD pass to rookie Cade Otton with nine seconds left. It looked as though Brady was about to set a personal best (worst?) for pass attempts without throwing a TD pass.

Tampa Bay’s offensive struggles — they are averaging just 17.7 points per game, the 8th-lowest total in the league — stem from the fact they are one-dimensional.

The Bucs have the NFL’s worst rushing attack, churning out a woeful 60.7 yards per game. Against the Rams, they totaled just 51 yards on 20 carries. Leonard Fournette had 19 yards on nine carries, while Rachaad White led the team with 27 yards on eight totes.

For all their ability to get after the QB, Seattle is 25th in rush defense, surrendering 138.7 yards per game.

Seahawks vs Buccaneers Pick

Seattle hasn’t just been beating teams, they’ve won their last four games by at least 10 points. They boast the seventh-ranked offense by DVOA, and have posted at least 27 points in each of their last three games.

Tampa has been able to crack the 20-point plateau once in their last five — it will be a challenge to go toe-to-toe with Seattle and the 4th-highest scoring offense in the NFL (26.8).

The Bucs are 0-6-1 against the spread in their last seven, while Seattle is 4-0 ATS in their last four. The respect factor for Brady on a neutral field, no less, is off the charts here. Taking the points works, though I like plus odds on the moneyline for the team that is clearly superior.
