Brighton host Chelsea on Tuesday night in the Premier League and given their recent 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, plus a troubled run for The Blues, we think the home team can really make a game of this and trouble their opponents.

Brighton v Chelsea Bet Builder Betting Tip:

Double Chance – Brighton or Draw

Chelsea are on a bit of a poor run at the moment in the Premier League, despite reaching the EFL Cup final. They are not playing awful, but struggling to get over the line, resulting in draws against Brighton, Wolves, Everton and Liverpool in their last six games.

Brighton are up in 9th place at the moment, and that has all been thanks to their ability to avoid defeat. Six wins isn’t anything to shout about, but combined with 10 draws, they have plenty of points on the board. They’ve been beaten just four times this season, only Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have a better record in terms of games lost.

Whether they can go and win it remains to be seen, but they are playing Chelsea at the right time, and have a good enough record of not losing themselves, regardless of who they play, so we like them to avoid defeat here.

Under 2.5 Goals

If Brighton are to take something from this game, their best chance is with a tight, low scoring game and to frustrate Chelsea by stopping them from playing. On average, Brighton score one goal per game and they concede one per game.

Nine of their last 10 league games have resulted in under 2.5 goals and while the Chelsea attack does present something better than average, Brighton stopped them just a few weeks ago, drawing 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Brighton to Have 4 or More Shots on Target

Again, this feeds into the hope that Brighton can get something from the game here.

They went to Stamford Bridge and had six shots on target, that game was part of a strong recent run they have been on with shots.

Brighton have recorded four or more shots in all of their last five games in all competitions. They are certainly not flowing with goals, but in terms of having chances, these have been coming at fairly regular intervals, let’s hope that continues in this one.

Over 4.5 Total Cards

If all of the above happens, this game should be a tight, scrappy affair that is fought out in the middle of the park, with a few chances, but not an abundance of goals.

It would be no surprise to see Chelsea get a little frustrated here, which is only going to increase the chances of cards in the game too.

When the teams met at Stamford Bridge, that happened and Chelsea ended up with four cards of their own, with Brighton picking up one. The same again would be enough to see this land.
