Warren Greatrex’s stable is in very good form at the moment and his seven-year-old Missed Approach has always been held in high regard by the Lambourn trainer.

Last time out he won a slowly ran affair on heavy ground at Lingfield Park in a stamina laden performance, but this is a much sterner test of his talents and CALETT MAD looked a very good prospect last time out at Taunton and he can win the Grade 2 Totepool Towton Novices’ Chase at 2.45pm in Wetherby.

Nigel Twiston-Davies’ five-year-old has improved for every start since coming over from France, going off as the favourite each time. The last time out at Taunton he won really well over just shy of three miles, dismissing a handicap mark of 138 in the process. He didn’t appear to enjoy the trappy course very much but is a well-built, scopey sort of horse who almost certainly has more improvement in the locker. Jockey Daryl Jacob is in good form of late, with four winners from his last eleven rides and the same can be said of Nigel Twiston-Davies with seven winners from thirty-three runners in the last two weeks.

The Cotswolds trainer has a very respectable 18% strike rate from his runners at this course and along with Calett Mad, it is a first visit to the Yorkshire track for ITV Racing. For the most part ITV Racing has received plenty of positive feedback and Saturday racing is in good hands.

Rock The Kasbah is also likely to line-up, but seems to have plateaued out form wise and the Philip Hobbs trained charge flattered to deceive last time out. Captain Chaos also has excellent place claims for Dan Skelton whose yard is beginning to pick up a head of steam, but Calett Mad is a likely and worthy favourite for this Grade 2 contest and he looks the one to be on.
