Racing Tip: Drop In Class To Suit Scruffy Tramp At 8.20 Kempton
Back Scruffy Tramp At 8.20 Kempton
Scruffy Tramp steps up in trip today, but a drop in class can get him back to winning ways in the Betdaq 1st UK Race Commission Free Handicap at 8.20 Kempton.
Much of the focus is on 10/11 market leader Examiner after winning over this trip at Lingfield ealier in the month, with Jalingo and Truancy in behind. Jalingo re-opposes on 3lb better terms and could close the gap, but Truancy has 3 lengths to make up and would need to improve greatly to feature.
Alan Baily’s Scruffy Tramp was highly effective over a 5 furlong trip last summer, winning a Warwick maiden and Lingfield nursery on his first two starts before finishing second at Bath and Lingfield.
An introduction to turf at Doncaster saw the selection take a backward step, but having ran well for third in a Class 2 here last time there is no reason why he shouldn’t be in the final shake-up today.
Scruffy Tramp is unexposed over a 1 mile trip and can take advantage of a drop in class today. At the very least he should make the frame and at stand out best odds of 8/1 with Betvictor, an each-way bet is recommended.
