Back Golanova At 3.05 Plumpton
Betting for the Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at 3.05 Plumpton has been dominated by Golanova and it’s thought that Gary Moore’s 7-year-old will take the world of beating at 2/1 with Coral, where losing stakes on falling horses are returned as a free bet.
The bay gelding was a winner over the smaller obstacles and has performed with credit over fences despite not yet getting a head in front. Golanova was was second off 4lb higher than today’s mark in a handicap chase at Wincanton in November over this trip, before finishing runner-up over an extra furlong at Lingfield on his penultimate start.
Last seen finishing fourth in hotter company at Sandown, Golanova rallied late on before weakening on the run-in, but having eased in the weights the mount of Joshau Moore should find this a lot easier, especially if the application of a first-time visor has the desired effect.
Parting Way is feared most of the four opposing horses having posted fair form over hurdles. Tim Vaughan’s 7-year-old makes his chasing debut under rules, but is a point to point winner, so may not take as long as some to get the hang of things.
Elsewhere course and distance winner Tigre D’Aron paid the price for a comfortable win at this venue in November when failing to cope with his revised mark at Lingfield and it could be a similar story today. Burgess Dream and Regal Flow look to have plenty to find on their chase debuts and it would be no surprise to see them tailing off when we get to the business end, where Golanova is taken to come out on top.
