Hidden Gold Can Take Sagaro Stakes

Having initially been keen on the chances of Tac De Boistron making it back to back wins in the Sagaro Stakes with Hidden Gold the most feared, now that last year’s winner has been withdrawn, the Godolphin runner makes the most appeal to land today’s Group 3 contest and punters can get best value with Betway where odds of 6/1 are available.

The Saeed bin Suroor-trained filly had a fantastic three-year-old season to win 6 times from 9 starts including a lited event at Lingfield and ran a race full of promise on her first run at four when beaten less than a length back at that venue earlier this month. There looks to be plenty more to come from Hidden Gold this year and the mount of James Doyle is lightly weighted for today’s 2 mile contest with conditions underfoot likely to suit her nicely.

Pallasator and Mizzou are likely to provide the stiffest opposition to the selection, but with Tac De Boistron out of the way, a bold bid from this progressive filly could well be on the cards. Seismos has Group 1 form in the book and was by no means disgraced in the Melbourne Cup, so it would be no surprise to see marco Botti’s charge go close, but the 7-year-old may just need a run and our selection has already dusted off the cobwebs.
