Back Milarrow At 1.40 Huntingdon
The in-form Venetia Williams stable’s Browns Brook is sure to go off a warm favourite in Huntingdon’s 32Red Casino Handicap Chase at 1.40 with bookmakers offering odds no bigger than evens about Aidan Coleman’s mount based on the 8-year-old’s 21 length victory over the course last month but prior to that improved run the Bob Back gelding had shown very little worthwhile form and may have been a touch lucky in beating Regal Park, as the strongly fancied Moonlight Maggie was going well when falling at the third-last and at such a short price looks worth opposing this afternoon.
Worthwhile form is thin on the ground in a disappointing contest but one horse who is capable of turning the favourite over on his best form is the Colin Tizzard-trained Milarrow, available at 5-1 with 888Sport, Betfred and Coral. The 7-year-old’s four runs this season are nothing to get excited about but the mount of Brendan Powell has dropped to an attractive mark of 107 and has plenty of form on heavy ground, particularly when runner-up to Rajdhani Express at Kempton fourteen months ago, a run which looked even better with the winner going on to land the Rewards4Racing Novices’ Handicap Chase at that season’s Cheltenham Festival.
Milarrow raced of a mark of 119 on that occasion, 12lb more than the son of Milan will have to carry today, and in what is a very moderate race can get the better of the favourite if running up to anything like that kind of form under conditions that look sure to suit.
